Hey everyone i just got a 05 xplorer v6 and i want to lift this baby up!! so far shock spacers seem to be the best option, but i see that there are some down sides, so what would the downsides of 2.25 in the front and 1.75 in the rear? and also how do you get the btf spacers because i believe the website is down, thanks!!

brandons number is 909-702-7462

i have the 2.25/1.75 setup and with all lifts/bigger tires the suspension components will wear out fater than normal ... if you plan to play with it get extended upper control arms ... my knuckles hit the coil springs if i go over a speed bump too fast (i dont have extended control arms)

this is what mine looks like

and welcome to EF!

I have the 2.25x1.75 combo and I love it. I've had it on my truck for bout 5k miles along with 285's (33"s) and had no issues, and that includes a few wheelin trips, good luck man!

2" front 1.5" rear 285's. The 285's rubbed to much for me so it now has 265's on it, they to rub a little when backing up.

Thanks. I need to take some new pics of it with the Duratrac's on it. I have also installed camber correction kits front and rear. Its is still a work in progress.

Be warned about spacers. They cause an awful lot of problems, some are satisfied with em, some aren't. Its not the product as Brandon @ BTF makes a damn good product. Good quality and all.

I totally agree ... if your gonna wheel hard ... buy something made for it but so far with about 1200 miles since the lift no problems ... but I have a truck to play with ... the x is the grocery getter

Hey army, my 3in body lift should be in today, I'm gonna start tackling it as soon as I can today or tomorrow, and my tires are coming in at noon today so by the end of the week I should be sitting taller!

Nice!

When you modify the steering shaft extension, be sure to remove material evenly from the male and female end to ensure that your steering wheel is straight and true when you reassemble the steering shaft.

Also recommend using threadocker on the two bolts when you reassemble the steering shaft.

so the wife is letting ya lift it now? how/why did she give in?

Well she needs an ipad2 for grad school starting in the fall..let's just say we worked out a deal lol

BTW if you don't want to have to flip your rear bumper or cut your rear bumper cover you can make some brackets out of 2 pieces of 5" x 7" steel plate in 1/4" thickness. This will let you raise it up 3" and still have it be strong for towing (thanks for the info BigOne65!). It does require some cutting of the existing bumper mounting bracket (Dremel tool or air grinder) and a good drill with a 9/16" bit. Just finished it yesterday....I'll see if I can do a write up.
