Gear shifter question with pics

So the gear shifter on my 2001 ex does not sit exactly on each section and it bothers me. Also i dont know if this is how these were made or if there is something wrong. thank you

your prndl is broken.

the indicator, has a string and a plastic adjuster, the adjuster breaks under the column.

is it easy and cheap to fix and how do you fix it?

If it moves, it is not necessarily broken, it may just need to be adjusted with the wheel under the dash.
