I've got a 2017 Explorer Platinum on order and am planning on using a Blendmount to install my ValentineOne radar detector. Searched the forum and haven't been able to find any pics or details of anyone using this. If anyone has done this install, could you post some photos. It would prove very helpful. TIA.

I have a Blendmount in my F150, not in my Explorer, but what exactly are you wanting to see? I don't see anything that would be an issue.

Here's my F150 with the Blendmount / 9500ix just for reference even though it's not an Explorer.

The explorer has a huge camera that is up against the windshield and has a VERY SHORT stem between that and the mirror itself. You can get the BlendMount in, but not sure where you would hook up the accessory power. Curious, what is that wifi device on the windshield directly behind the radar detector in the last photo. TIA for your help.

It doesn't seem like anyone has pulled apart that panel against the windshield behind the rear view mirror; seems the most likely place to wire it up...

Doesn't seem like there is any way it would fit with that mounting bracket with the mirror I have. Not much room to install it. Besides, already have the blendmount, which is car specific. Don't think a universal mount really works. if it does, great, but it wouldn't work for me. Thanks though.

I have the platinum and I had the original and this one and this one fits better.

He is more interested in connecting the unit than mounting it. I'm not aware of anyone having opened the large section that contains the sensors but I'm guessing the member Nasty, who posted the above pictures, must have opened the back of the mirror.

I opened the over head console that has the sunroof control. All you need to do is get your fingers around the edge and pull down it will come out easy, then you disconnect the two connectors one has two wires the other has three, the one with three has a white and yellow wire that is the hot one strip that one and connect your black wire to that one and the white one to the metal you can use a small zippy screw right into the metal push excess wire in the space above snap the connectors back to place and push the hole panel back and that is it. you don't want to use the connector to the wiper sensor because you will get random wiper with out it raining.

Thanks. I'll check it out. I don't plan on stripping anything, as the stealth cord has pins that should just be able to plug into the connectors. I'll check it out and see what I can figure out. Thanks.
