I don't know if it is the weight of this truck or what, but I am always getting stuck in the snow.

Does anyone recommend a good aggressive snow tire?

I'd keep what I have on it for if I ever end up driving it in summer or off the property but right now I need a better solution for snow and plowing my own driveways

Goodyear Wranglers 235-75-15, I bought two sets off EBAY free shippin', no stupid California whacko taxes, had them mounted and balanced and saved $100

Walmart and Costco were at about 75 each plus all the frills

What tires do you have on it now?

If yore going to drive a slower speeds (25mph), drop the air pressure to 10psi. that will increase the tire contact patch and traction significantly.

We run 9psi in 2ft-3ft of snow in the mountains around here

Cooper Discoverer HT, they're at 20, which I thought was low, so I'll try 10 or 8 for next time for sure. That's a great illustration

I thought your avatar was a rollover, then I realized it wasn't haha. That is crazy. I never looked at my Explorer as something that could be converted into something like that!

That picture was the 3rd time on 2 wheels on that climb. I did need help getting back onto the rubber side. Continued to wheel the rest of the week, then drove 1100 miles home towing a small tent trailer. (Moab Utah)

Explorers are an often overlooked but capable 4wd vehicle.

When running regular trails I air down to 15psi but go lower in snow

BFGs ATKOs have good snow traction. Wear like iron, but also ride like it. I had general grabber AT2s and they were great in the snow, and did great on my Mounty for plowing.

How Much weight do you have in the back?

Get a pair of these. They will pull you out of just about any snow, and work far better than you might think. I’ve had a set since I started driving, and they have saved my ass at LEAST 50 times. Used them on everything from small cars, loaded tractor trailers, and farm equipment.

Work excellent in mud as well.
