Just noticed the crack yesterday. Last drove was about a week ago and I didn’t notice anything. It’s just out of warranty(37k miles) but I have extended warranty with $100 down I believe.

Is this normal? Is it going to get worse?

Those look more like cuts than cracks. In any case, unfortunately, upholstery is NOT covered by the ESP. You could always see what the dealer says about it since you are just over the factory warranty.

Wow really? Those look like cut? I have no clue how did it happen then.... I rarely drive my car because the coronavirus.

Hard to really tell for sure from the photo but that wouldn't seem to be a place for it to crack. Could it possibly from the seat belt end when trying to fasten it? You could always try an auto part recycler to one of those U-Pul- It places and see if they have any Explorers.

I saw pictures of one Explorer that was for sale with cracks like that. It had something north of 100k miles on it if I remember right.
I could see that happening if you lean on the center console a lot or exposed to a lot of heat/sun.

Maybe it's the soap you use in the shower......that's a half joking comment.:)

Do you wear a watch or bracelet that could be contacting that area?

No watcher or bracelet, but I do lean on console a lot and also I live in Arizona.
