I've got the 16" six-spoke stock wheels on my 2007 XLT (first picture).
Will the five-spoke 17" wheels from the previous generation (second picture) fit without any modifications? I've seen 4th-gen Explorers with these 3rd-gen wheels on them, but don't know if any modifications had to be made (besides new tires!).

This seems to have good information: My 2007 XLT (V-6) has one of the following (not sure which):
• 16x6.5 ET47 5x114.3
• 16x7 ET44 5x114.3

The dimensions for the 17" wheels for 2007 match the 17" wheel dimensions for 2002-2005:
• 17x7.5 ET44 5x114.3

That website doesn't show any images, but since there is just one size for the 17" wheel from 2002 all the way through 2010, I'm assuming that even if there are multiply styles of the 17" wheel, they all have the same dimensions and all would fit. But I could be wrong. If they are takeoffs from a four-wheel drive version, for example.

Would really appreciate some more knowledgeable input!
(Just found this and thought I'd add the link. Looks like the part number for the five-spoke 17" rim I'm hunting for is 1007C.)

Replacing these 16"

... hopefully ... with these 17":

And if they will fit and you know where I can get some, let me know!

i believe the rim style did not change 2wd vs 4wd. it should be fine the only thing is with wider rim dependijg on how they did offset it may be too fsr in or out. the best wya to know is to go to a jy and try test fitting one if one is there imo then you know for sure
