Looking for help or guidance, have a set of 2019 SHO 8jx20 et39 rims with winter tires that i want to know if they can be mounted on a 2011-19 explorer with the 20" rims that are 8.5jx20 et44 as I'm in the market for a new to me explorer? Thanks.

Assuming the Taurus wheels have Taurus spec tires installed (245/45/20)
The overall size difference is noteworthy. Would they “fit” and work, I’m sure they would.
Ideal is another story.

I think the wheel offset is gonna be different. You may need hub spacers. Skinny tires are better for snow but as mentioned the tire height difference is noticable and will throw off sensors including the speedometer

I'm not sure if that makes any real difference. The tires that came on the 2011 Explorer were listed on the manufacturer's site as being for passenger cars.

Pretty Much correct! I went to tire rack and picked 20” snow tires for 19 sho and then same for 11 explorer same tire comes up (slightly different size) but same load rating

50 psi
Taurus max load per tire 1820#
Explorer 2200#

Just want people to know just because it fits doesn’t mean it is always safe to be run there is a lot more ti tires then just “it fits!”

Sold my SHO so I have the SHO rims with new winters with 0 k's on them, then wrote my Camry off so was looking to get an Explorer and have seen many have the 255/50r20 option so i was thinking/hoping the 245/45r20 I have would be a close fit and wouldn't cause any issues.

According to this site, the SHO tires exceed the generally accepted 3% maximum diameter variance. It would likely affect the ABS and TC systems to some degree. 255/50 R20 vs 245/45 R20 Tire Size Comparison Table with Graphic Visualization (inch difference)

My bronco came with 235/15 now she runs 315/17 think it will have an issue lol lol
