I haven't seen information on what exactly the "performance brakes" entails. My ST Line has the street package with the red painted brake system, but what exactly is the difference compared to the basic brakes..

A large difference. Rears are significantly bigger and the fronts are noticeably larger, especially the caliper. I'll have to find a photo.

Here is what an Internet search produced;

Ford offers two brake packages for the Explorer ST and Explorer Platinum: the ST Street Pack and the High Performance Package. The ST Street Pack delivers vented rotors and larger calipers front and rear, which grow 18 mm up front, and 30 mm out back compared to the stock calipers on the Explorer ST and Explorer Platinum. The High Performance Package adds performance lining to those brakes. The ST Performance Brake Package includes four-wheel vented disc brakes with Colorado Red painted brake calipers, performance brake pads, a brushless radiator cooling fan, 21-inch premium gloss black-painted aluminum wheels and more.

Ok that's good info thank you. A little different I think being that that article was for packages on the 2020 ST, but I have the 2025 ST Line street package. I'm sure it's a similar upgrade using bigger parts, just looking for more specifics since all I can find is Ford saying it's an "upgraded performance brake system" and painted red. I was able to find that the rears rotors are vented with performance brakes. Also seeing reference to "high series" brakes on some sites.
