Looks awesome Robert! Much better! :D

I was wondering, if he went up to 285, shouldn't he have gone down to 70??
Will his speedo still read correct??

I'm sure his speedo wasnt exact with his old tires. The change is size would be minimal to say the least as far as speedo goes.

Each time I went up in tire sizes, my speedometer was off by 5% until I put in a new speedometer gear with 1 less tooth which corrected my speedometer. Right now my speedometer is off by 1.6% since there is no such thing as a speedometer gear with 18.3 teeth (had to settle on 18). My stock speedometer gear was 20 teeth. If I would have left it in, my speedometer would be reading about 10% too low. I went from 30" to 32" to 33".

This is the way it looked after my first cutting after putting on my 265 75R16s (31.7" x 10.4")

This is what it looks like now to fit my 285 75R16s (32.8" x 11.2")

looks awesome robert. funny how something as simple as tires, which you always need anyway, obviously, can change the look of the vehicle so much.

wow, that is almost a total change in look, good choice of tires.

looks like you trimmed the front bumper a decent amount too. looks great. i put on 285s with my BL also and had VERY minimal trimming to do. i was planning to have to trim a lot after going on the first offroad trip with them.. but they barely rubbed and only a few times when it was extremely stuffed on a tight turn. now you just gotta ditch that step bar! :D
i do rub the sway bar now though. i think that was only when offroad too because it doesn't look like its hit lately. nice looking truck robert!

looks great man, i hope mine turns out as good as yours when i do my lift next week:D

The only trimming I did was at the back of the front wheel wells. I didn't have to touch the front (nor the bumper). After going ont he AZ run Saturday, the only place I rubbed was my rear tires on the inside of my wells at full compression since I had my rear sway bar disconnected. My 265s rubbed there also, but my 285s make a bigger rub mark. I'm keeping the step bars unless they get mangled off road. I have had my Explorer resting on them on several occasions. If it hadn't been for the bars, it would have been the body. My 265s would rub on my stock sway bars but with my Addco bars, my 285s don't touch them. They have a different bend so they are about 2" further away from the tires than my stock ones were.

i guess the 95-98 bumper style doesn't come as far back then.. mine comes a lot further back than yours in the first pictures. and yeah.. the back tires still rub at compression on mine too... oh well..

how much was that other front swaybar?

Looks great Robert!!! My 2-door longs for new shoes too :(

yeah, some members with 99+ trucks who go with the same size tires as other members with 95-98 trucks have to do some trimming on the front bumper to accomodate the tires; the guys with the 95-98s dont have to do that same trimming. minor issue anyway.

I have a question for you...did those tires fit okay on your factory 7" rims? Those are really wide for a 7" rim. It gives me hope if they fit okay.

yeah they fit fine.. 285s on stock wheels here too

I think I paid about $175 for it at truckperformance. They have it listed now for $188. The rear is listed at $149 which is up about $25 from what I paid for it.
