Hi every one I just got back from a great weekend in the single greatest off-road place in the world.:) I would like to say thanks to biggs85,and his dad, jefe, brother of jefe and thier enormous crew.

Sat. we met up with jefe, brother of jefe, and biggs85 at the local grocery store and headed out to the Fin's and Things trail. On the way we picked up another jeep that was looking for some fun too. The trail started with about 7 suv's but at the first obstacle we lost a 2WD expedition. From there we found the pace to be pretty good. The mix of vehicles was great also. We ran the first part of the trail without a problem. However at lunch jefe and his crew had to leave. biggs85 and I set off to finish what we had come here for. We ran the seconed half of the trail with no problems and couldn't belive that a stock X, with 31-10.5's would ever go that far. Some of the climbs were in the 60-70 degree range. The trail was so much fun and Mike and his dad were such great people that we're already planning on making another trip this spring and doing another trail.

Sun. After talking it over, my wife and I decided not to run any hard trails due to the fact we were alone and didn't want somthing to happen. I instead opted for the gemini bridges run. This trail for the most part is dirt and gravel road. Once you get to the bridges there is plenty of individule obstacles to play around on, and lots of people there. We had a great time just hanging out and looking at all of the scenery.

I will post a few of the trail pics so you too can enjoy them. These pics as anyone who has ran this trail will tell you do no justice to the steepness of these hills. obstacles

Glad you had fun. I just wish I could have been there.

Did you make it up that hill? That's awesome!!

Man, that is some awesome terrain! Great pics.

What a great day. I don't know how we could of had a better time. Man, where were you Boyle!?!? We waited forever for you to show up. And you weren't even on your way or anything.;) No, I'm just kidding, hope to see you next time so we can do some trails. Clint, it was really great to meet you and your wife. Me and my Dad were talking the whole way back home how much fun we had and how nice you guys were. I can't believe some of the stuff that you made me climb:eek: I'm glad you showed us though, because that was the funnest we've ever had 4-wheeling. It's too bad you couldn't stay with us through the rest of the trail Jefe. You have a great family, and I hope that we'll meet again in the future. AhhJaws, I didn't think that it was possible for anyone to go up that hill. Next thing I know Clint is going back to try it. From where I was, it looked like he was driving up a wall! He went right up and over. I think I have a picture of both of us climbing it but as usual it doesn't look like much from the pic. I'm working on becoming elite so I can post the pictures here soon.

That hill is called Kenny's Climb is a good example of what fun you get to do in the extreme traction that Moab provides. I am sure they did climb it. Fins N' Things is a very fun trail, sort of like running a roller coaster in your Explorer. :)

Oh, and when you are inside the Explorer, it looks a lot steeper going up than the picture conveys. It's a blast!

Dude! Sweet pics. Kind of makes me wish we had some 4 wheelin areas around me. Then I would be lifting instead of lowering. Oh Well.:(

Thanks everyone we had a great time and didn't go around any obstacles, what fun is that? :)

Mike thanks for the great trip talk to you soon.

BTW: The pic with the two of us standing on top is not kenny's it is another hill that is shorter but steeper:)

Oh and on that climb there was a jeep that almost didn't make it so Mike had to show him what was up and do it without even slipping a tire:)

I'll copy my brothers post over to here:

We all had a blast! We ended up with a few more vehicles and a LOT of kids. Made it tough when ever we stopped. (Frequent bathroom stops took at least twenty minutes) We ended up taking our whole group back to our campsite for lunch and let the Explorer's continue on.

My dad and I ran Gemini Bridges and Bull Canyon on Friday with my mom's STOCK 2002 Explorer. (We'll post some pictures soon!) He rented a Jeep on Saturday and Sunday when we ran Fins-N-Things and Klondike Bluffs.

Jefe and I also tried one of our signature "midnight" runs up Top of the World Saturday night. Very disconcerting to look over the edge and not be able to see the bottom with even a 2 million candlepower spotlight!

Wow! I didn't think it was possible to have so much fun in 2wd :D

Sorry we couldn't continue on with you guys. . .that was a big disapointment to have to go back to camp for lunch and leave you guys out there.

I managed all the obstacles of Fins & Things with the exception of Kenny's Climb which I didn't want to try in 2wd. [Edit: I soppose I didn't make it over the "Bridge" and needed a strap, but I didn't consider that an obstacle. LOL] There were a few of those steep hills that required just the right momentum and a light foot on the gas pedal. By the end of the day my Dad asked why I even needed a front axle :D

The midnight run was fun, although now all the kids want to do that trail in the day so they can actually see all 2500 ft to the bottom.

Sunday we ran Klondike Bluffs, and had 5 vehicles (2wd expedition, 4x4 Blazer, my rig, my brothers rig, and my dads rented Jeep). We had to ditch the expedition just before the slickrock portion because the driver didn't feel comfortable taking it any further. It was a great view once we got to the top, although we never found Tower Arch, which was one of the reasons for running the trail.

Pictures will be up soon, followed by video [hopefully]

Whoops

Here's my Whoops. I thought I was lined up and didn't have my passenger check for me. I figured, even if I miss, that hole isn't big enough to swallow a 35. Guess I was wrong.
