i have the 97 sohc xlt. I found a nice mark twain boat for really cheap. I have a class 3 hitch and i believe my explorer has a tranny cooler. I think the boat is between 16-18ft long with a 4cyl inboard engine. Should i be ok to tow it home traveling at 55mph.The trip back home is like 3.5hrs.

I am needing a diagram of what fuse is what. The fuse box cover just shows what amps are needed but what not the fuse is for. please help.

alright i thought i fixed my explorer 97 xlt sohc. I got a tune up and had to replace the intake manifold because it was warped so the gaskets got changed. but today the p0153 sensor code came back on. Well pulled the manifold off the gaskets didnt cause it the whole mani was warped.Oreily auto has it for 49.99 in my area and it includes all gaskets.

My hood hydraulics need changed i ordered 2 brand new ones on rockauto for 7ea. I have no clue on how to remove the old ones. Anyone have a picture or video or even a forum i can read. i searched and cant find anything.

Well good news i found the problem. The mechanic kept saying the intake gaskets werent leaking so i tried the smoke idea. Sure enough it was leaking pretty bad on the upper. I found another mechanic who will replace for 250 thats parts and everything.

My dealer told me just for labor for plugs and wires is like 2.5 hrs which turns out to 180 dollars.

mine does same problem in the morning i will go start my 97 explorer sohc and the idle will go to 900-1000rpm when cold then slowly go down to 500-600rpm ill give it gas and the idle will go below 500 then back to 600. The codes i had were p0153,p0171,p0174. So my guess is bad intake gaskets or...

i took the tranny access plate off i cant reach far enough with 1 hand to disconnect the plug. i tried underneith but my hand is 2 big. I saw the connecter from under the hood but that would be a pain in the but to disconnect. any suggestions?

All these codes pop up. The lean codes are pending and the o2 sensor is the fault. So whats the problem. I think its the o2 sensor or the intake gaskets.

i have the p0153 p0171 and p0174 codes so o2 sensor and lean on both sides is this the intake gaskets?

doesnt ford have a recall for the throttle body. i beleive so for the sohc 4.0 engine. i read the throttle body will clog allowing this i need to check into it because i have a prob 2 but its not real bad just when cold.

remove intake mani How hard is it to remove the intake manifold on the sohc 4.0 engine? never done it on this specific vehicle.

my spark plugs and wires look like its been awhile since changed. Will this cause any of it?
