    Inaccurate speedo in 2004 X

Tire size I noticed that your tire size is P245/65R17. My stock tire size is P245/70R16. I don't know if they changed the size for your year but mine is a 2002 E.B. 4x4. See what you door states as the stock tire size. Might be worth a try.

2002 explorer rear wiper works some times

Agree So far I am going to have to agree with you. I can now get the wiper to work if you initially put it on low, let it swing, then put it on intermittent. Agrivating.

Anyone have TSB 04-7-1 Full Text???

Thank You Thanks for the information. This is exactly what I did tonight. I cleaned all of the sensors off with a damp towel. Before, it wasn't recognizing anything and chiming away at phantom items. After cleaning them, they are working normal now. This is actually going to be a pain in the...

2002 explorer rear wiper works some times

Cold!!!!!!!!! I know it's cold up there. I went skiing in '96 somewhere around Medicine Hat and got caught in a blizzard on top of the mountain. Had to be rescued by ski patrol and transported to some hospital in Medicine Hat. If memory serves me correct I think it was about -40 below...

2002 explorer rear wiper works some times

Want them to work when driving I have done this too, and it works. However, I would like it to work when I'm actually driving in the rain. (I'm not trying to be a smart@@@). ;) If I do this it will work for a little while, but when I stop and then restart the truck it will do the same thing.

2002 explorer rear wiper works some times

I have a 2002 explorer E.B. 4WD. When I turn on the rear window wiper it sometimes works and sometimes it looks like it is getting hung up. If you turn it to the intermittant setting it usually will not work, however, if you switch it to the regular setting and then back it will work. Anyone...

Stock tire size for 2002 E.B.???

I have a quick question. I have a 2002 Explorer Eddie Bauer and the tires that are on it are P245/70R16. Yet, I m seeing everywhere, even in the owner's manual, that the stock tire size is P255/70R16. Does anyone know what is going on? The sticker on the driver's door stated that the P245 tire...

    2002 Explorer RUST Problem!!!

Problrm Fixed CarMax fixed the problem. They had to send it out to a body shop to have the work done. They fixed the damage and applied some protectant inside the body panel to protect the galvanized steel. Here is the left side pic. The right side is the same. The moral of this story is...

    2002 Explorer RUST Problem!!!

Update Just an update on the rust problem. The body shop found out that the drain tube got stopped up on both sides from the moonroof. They both rotted out and caused water to build up in the body. They are having to replace the entire door stop on the lower a-pillar. Here is a pic from the maual.

    2002 Explorer RUST Problem!!!

91-94 Dog Legs The first gen. explorers had a terrible skeleton in it's closet. The dog legs are where the back quarterpanel wheelwheel and backdoor is. Over time it was noticed that this area was rusting out horribly. If your truck was covered under their corrosion warranty then they replaced...

    2002 Explorer RUST Problem!!!

CarMax is Taking Care of It I went to my local Ford dealer and they stated that the rust would be covered under Ford's corrosion warranty, but the catch was the rust had to be all the way through! Can you beleive this! That's like Firestone saying we know our tires are defective but we're not...

FAILED INSPECTION!!! NEED HELP FIXING BRAKE LIGHT!!!

Reply The problem was that there wasn't any problem at all. It was the inspector that thought the light was supposed to come on. I checked around and found out that the light never came on in the manner he wanted on the 91 to 94's.

Nothing Needed There isn't any inbetween step involved. Just drain the old oil and put the new synth. in. As for the drain plug, I'm assuming your talking about the Fram Sure Drain plug. I have that on my truck. I was a little nervous about installing it because it sticks down quite a bit, but...

'91-'94 brake lines no longer made

I just thought that all owners of '91 to '94 explorer owners might fing it interesting that Ford has discontinued the production of these brake lines. Rightfully so, as you really never need to replace them unless..... you are installing extended radius arms and need to drill a hole for the drop...

Why do some trucks like Toyotas and Rangers have their rear shocks mounted on opposite sides of the axle housing? I have noticed alot of Chevys are this way too. Does this help with axle wrap? Why don't Explorers have this? Thanks.
