It's about time that I earn my title around here....
I've always used dish soap for washing vehicles. That looks amazing and better than new, Adam!! I soooo don't have the patience for that kind of work. Good think I have 2 white vehicles. :p: Well, one really, I haven't "washed" the explorer since I got it. It's been rinsed, but not washed...- FROADER

FROADER's '04 E-350
I'm going to leave it alone for a while and see how it does with towing. I'm sure I'll mod it eventually. I'd rather spend the money on the explorer and the things it needs.- FROADER

FROADER's '04 E-350
I've talked to a bunch of people and they all said that their trucks with the v10 get 9-11mpg, so I'm ok with my over 12mpg for now. This pig weighs 9300lbs empty. EDIT: A friend just told me his crew cab SD 250 is 6440bls. So I'm almost 3k more than that.- FROADER

FROADER's '04 E-350
Mark, I joined that group and thanks for that link. My second tank of gas is gone and I got 13.32 mpg this time. So, my average so far with the 2 tanks is 11.5 + 13.3 / 2 = 12.25mpg. I only give a  because I've heard I would only get 10mpg no matter what. 12.25mpg...- FROADER

How much fender to cut out?
I think I missread your original post. Are you putting a body lift on or no? IMO 31s is the biggest I would go without regearing for more than one reason. For the rockers, if you do go with 33s replacing them with a slider/step would be a great idea for protection and making it easier to...- FROADER

Solved Lifts and Max tire sizes
That size might rub, it's not just the height that makes them rub, it's also the width. Since 31x10.5s rub on some and not on others, you won't know until you try it, unfortunately. Also the added stress on the drivetrain with bigger tires and not regearing is there too.- FROADER

How can I keep the shift knob from coming off?
I would just permanently glue them since your wife is a master seamstress. If you were to ever need a new shift boot, she could make you one and sew it right on the lever. :D That's if you don't get a stock rubber one..- FROADER

Solved Lifts and Max tire sizes
That would be a good size for you then. 31x10.5s fit on some with no rubbing, but it's not guaranteed.- FROADER

How capable is a 2WD and Locker?
Get a 4wd and put a locker in the rear. That way you have both. A 4wd is 2wd until you push a button or pull a lever. :)- FROADER

How much fender to cut out?
Don't go any wider than an 8" wheel, especially if you're not lifting. Your biggest problem will be rubbing while turning, and not just on the fenders or front bumper. You'll be rubbing the radius arm and like Dopler said maybe even the frame, which really isn't a big deal, just annoying. - 34s...- FROADER
