RJ's B2 Build
Finally fished out the bolts from my locker. Had it over at my gear shop and he checked it out to make sure it was all in good shape before I started to work on it. He said everything was good other than the broken bolts. So with a punch, a hammer, drill bits, butane torch (for the lock Tite)...- R.J.

Well it's raining hard at my house, was worried it might be a mud show this weekend. But it doesn't show it raining at Salton Sea.- R.J.

Took the little bronco out to test it and check how everything is working out in the dirt before the truckhaven trip. Had a lot of fun, everything is working great on the truck. It's still open diffs for right now. Hopefully get that locker fixed soon. The shocks are too soft for my liking...- R.J.

Also, this diff cover was a gift. Or a prize of some sort? I think the cover was a prize give away from the forum and the powder coating was a gift. (Not for consideration)- R.J.

RJ's B2 Build
Replaced the leaky shock today. I don't have the budget for anything fancy, but I was able to find this rancho rs5000 on sale on Amazon for $14. With the shocks on, fenders trimmed, and bump stops on I plan to test it out this Saturday in Azusa canyon (hopefully won't hydrolock it) and make...- R.J.

The gears are fine. I'm hoping to fix the carrier and that everything will be good. I dropped the locker off at a diff shop to see if they can fix it.- R.J.

456 gears with 33's will work very well. If you plan to run bigger tires later, then maybe 488. I ran 456 gears with both 33's and 35's. 33's it was good, but 35's in the rocks with a clutch was a little under geared- R.J.

Yes they are. They're just self tapping screws. It also comes with welting, but I didn't use it. The wild horses flares are similar to the bushwacker cut out flares for broncos, but the wild horses flares are supposed to be really durable.- R.J.

RJ's B2 Build
Speaking of no fun, my day did not go as planned. I took the Eaton Detroit locker out of my other rig, planning to put it in the b2, and found its half way broken. Most of the bolts on the end are broken off, and found the heads of some of them in the diff.- R.J.

Finally got something done that I've wanted to do for a long time. Cut out the fenders and installed some wild horses early bronco fender flares. They aren't made to fit aB2, but I made them fit. Now I finally have proper fender clearance and I love the way it looks. Looking pretty...- R.J.

Dead in the water
Went in too deep. Engine took in water and hydrolocked. I don't have any photos from the outside. Here's one of the water and me on the hood hooking up the tow strap. Instagram post by Robbie Krumm • Dec 24, 2017 at 2:16am UTC Instagram post by Robbie Krumm • Dec 25, 2017 at 12:03am UTC -

Modified my front bumper. The whole thing was too big. It stuck out in front of the car too much and the skid plate was so long it would hit my steering linkage. You can see in some of my older pics that I actually had the bumper angled up to clear the steering. So I trimmed it down to just the...- R.J.

I'm not fixing it. I might keep the engine and find a short block for it, and put it in the b2. But if I was engine swapping the Navajo, I would put a 5.0 in it. I could drop it off at your house. You want it?- R.J.

So when I put the rear axle in, I didn't weld up the shock mounts exactly where I want them. I only partially welded them so it would be easier to change later. But I never did. Collected all the parts to do my rear axle swap. Got an 8.8 rear end from a member on this forum, and got the ruff stuff specialties 8.8 swap kit with springs perches and shock mounts and all that. And then I did some strange stuff with the rear suspension. It was a bit of an experiment, but it worked. I had, in my garage, a pair of 4" superlift leaf springs from my explorer. Since those springs are free for me, I wanted to use them. But I only want 2-3" of lift and those springs on a b2...- R.J.
