You must have been a hot mess working in the heat yesterday Tim. I admire your resolve to get things done. I'm actually happy the crank is coming out of the motor so you can check bearings at the same time.- Dono

Whew! On the up side, at least Tim will keep looking for an aluminum 4.6 block for my mustang, and.....Tim doesn't hate me. LOL I'm excited to see what this motor does with a blower on top of it.- Dono

Yea, I'm hoping so also. I'm actually relived to to hear about the stripped valve cover bolt. In my defense, that bolt is right at the heater box and was an absolute ***** to get at. When the turbo oil return pump quit working, it wasn't pretty. Oil everywhere also. Im not sure if the turbo...- Dono

This is great news! I'm sure you can come up with an 8 rib zero balance balancer I dont know for sure, but i'd think if the motor was balance to true zero, you should just be able to swap balancers without having the assembly rebalanced. Also, pop the oil pan and check a few bearings just to be...- Dono

Sounding like the pulley swap was a good thing Tim. With the timing table, I extended the load/timing past what was actually being logged using SWAG (Sophisticated Wild Arsed Guess) so the higher the load (boost) went, the more timing would be removed. Did I pull not enough? Too much? No...- Dono

Lol. No problem on the tod. It's funny that you say your truck starts to choke its self after idling for a long time. Mine used to do that also. It's strange, as the narrow band oxygen sensors are controlling the fuel, and the ie circuit is controlling spark. I don't know what to say, other...- Dono

I'm looking forward to seeing what this summer brings. I'm sure you will get under the 12.5's. I'm betting the fouling plug issue was fixed once that hole in the snout was plugged. Thanks Tim. The tough part is that the car needs to be fairly level, sitting on its tires before they go in. Without a hoist that supports the car on its tires, it would be less than fun. Nothing like welding sparks while your on your back, under the car. 🔥- Dono

Atco might close? Do you think this is driven by the current administration green initiative? It always sounded like it was busy there. It's a shame. Yea, sad day for sure. I don't like giving up, but it made absolutely no sense to keep going. Once I can get the mustang on the road and start screwing with it I'll feel better about it. I will say that the Fusion is sooooo quiet. Almost no road noise at all on the highway. Very nice to...- Dono

Yup, tough decision. All the blood sweat and tears that went in to it. It would be awesome if someone wanted the whole turbo setup. All lines could be pulled along with the return pump and piping. The exhaust could just be cut further up the line so it could be re-welded on to the new owners...- Dono

And.............I threw my cards on the table and walked away. In this last cold snap, it seemed like something was going wrong every day. Day 2 in the cold....Pump for the oil return from the turbo quits. Oil in the intake and exhaust piping. Lovely. Tuned out to be a relay went bad. Why...- Dono

Thanks Tim! I knew you were keeping an eye out for that all elusive 4.6 aluminum block for my mustang, lol. I see a guy on kijiji (Or facebook marketplace, or something like that) has one for $600.00. Its a stripped block, but has crank and pistons (Which I'd go forged rods and pistons...- Dono

I struggled with doing my valve seals, as finding the right tool to compress the spring to get the keepers out was not easy for me. Then, It was back braking work for me. Funny, I just couldn't believe that the rad that showed up was the full depth one, exactly the one you brought for me. I'd say it went wrong for me, but all ended well. Small updates. Still going strong. I 'think' I fixed most of my oil leak. The valve cover bolt at the drivers side firewall next to the header wasn't very tight. Your a brave man driving to the track, hammering on one of your Daily Drivers, and driving back. Stresses me thinking about it. The log of the second run you sent me the coolant was at 220 degree's, so the fan's were not working then either. With the added heat, your intake air temps were rising (Up to 170 degree's). The issue was Tip in spark retard. At factory settings when you mash the throttle the ecm will pull up to 13 degree's of timing on anything over 5 degree's. No wonder we were seeing spark of -10 when Tim would mash the throttle. Current settings are that when Tim mashes the throttle, up to 5...- Dono

Tim, Send it down the track. Get me a log when your doing it. My main concern is that the low end timing might be a bit high (15-2500rpm). I'm sure you would hear that detonation though, and your truck did respond in a positive way. The high rpm's are set to 18 degree's timing, and that...- Dono

Props to Tim on the intercooler and heat exchanger setup. Air Charge Temps are 120 at wot. Could you add a 3" 30 degree pipe (With another silicone joiner), then put the reducer after that? I know it wouldn't look as clean as you'd like, and you might not have enough room. Yea, it's hot. I'm impressed (absolutely amazed) your slugging it out. I haven't done much outside.- Dono

I tried my iat sensor in my lower intake also....i removed it form that location as I didn't really need it there anyway. There are tables that you can adjust so that at idle/low rpm you can make sure timing isn't pulled. Congratulations! I can hardly wait to hear more.- Dono
