Can I take a cylinder head from the junkyard and install it right away, or would the timing be off?
Yeah, it's fine, won't hurt anything. Personally I wouldn't use wd40 on it after cleaning.- Josh P

Can I take a cylinder head from the junkyard and install it right away, or would the timing be off?
It isn't the total number of miles, but how it was maintained and cared for during those miles. The oven cleaner won't hurt anything if gets all over the cylinder head. For the exhaust ports, stand the head up on edge and fill each port, then let it sit for awhile. I've cleaned used pistons, and...- Josh P

Can I take a cylinder head from the junkyard and install it right away, or would the timing be off?
A container or thick plastic bag and some liquid rust remover will clean the ports up. Oven cleaner does wonders on carbon. I don't see anything obviously wrong with that head, looks like it came from a worn, high mile motor.- Josh P

Stic-o Class C RV. Say hello to Sunny🌞
If I had an RV, I'd want a 60 series Detroit engine in it. 6-8 mpg is what I get at 80,000 lbs. Empty it's 9-11 mpg.- Josh P

Off to the dark side...
I've had it happen enough times to think that. I've also noticed things like, having the dealer replace intake hoses to fix a boost leak, to see they loosened an exhaust clamp to create another leak in hopes of a return visit. -
Off to the dark side...
The answer is, this is how they get repeat business. If a dealership fixed an issue correctly the first time it cuts into profits. They'd rather fix it wrong, you come back so they can charge more to fix it right the 2nd time. -
Off to the dark side...
Figure about a year for them to get it right. Speaking from experience. I'm a happy lifelong ex customer. -

An electric Ranger would be cool. I'd like a hybrid with a diesel engine. I would register it as a fuel burning vehicle to avoid the penalties of higher registration.- Josh P

How I spent my Saturday 😺
The emissions testing and restrictions are going away. Utah only has 3 counties that do emissions testing, if a bar ref puts a sticker on it, then it's golden. Some have done this swap into newer cars in Utah and had no issues and others hit roadblocks.- Josh P

2002 explorer crank no start
There's a receiver around the ignition that goes to the pats module which then goes to the GEM module. The lack of a flashing red light makes me think there might be an issue with one of the modules. A tuner can disable the pats.- Josh P

2002 explorer crank no start
The pats disables the injectors on all vehicles with it but the starter is not disabled on all vehicles. The starting fluid only rules out the ignition if the pats does not disable the starter.- Josh P

Dedicated plug. My parents replaced their glass stove top with one that needed 50 amps. The wall around the sub panel in the kitchen pantry looked like swiss cheese. Took my mom a week to get over it. Hopefully your run is easier than that.- Josh P

I mean, we both know you NEED a 351W. I just got home from spending a week in California. My 94 year old friend needs my help making his house more handicap accessible. 91 needs tires (31s?)
The A4LD isn't the strongest transmission to begin with, so any additional strain will shorten the life. Keeping the fluid cooler will help it. I've learned to keep a good pair of walking shoes in a car with an A4LD.- Josh P
