Josh P's 05 Jeep Liberty diesel
I'm extremely happy that the custom part was the same price as the standard production item. For a medium duty truck clutch disc, flywheel and pressure plate, $1,000 isn't a bad price. The high performance car stuff starts around that range. -
Josh P's 05 Jeep Liberty diesel
The picture above is of the completed disc. It will fit the 6.0 flywheel and pressure plate. No additional charge for the custom hub center. $1,200 shipped to my door. Shipping charge is the expensive part. -
Anyone in the Detroit area want to do me a favor?
Around Phoenix, AZ you can get a rust free 4th gen needing engine work for under $2,000. I see one on Facebook Marketplace for $1,200. You could buy the car and with shipping be well under $2,500 total.- Josh P

Build the 4.0Lor swap to a V8
Boost is addictive. If you go that route invest in an aftermarket block. Some would say it's not necessary but it should be looked at like an insurance policy.- Josh P

Josh P's 05 Jeep Liberty diesel
In a way, it is. Having driven this motor in the LCF, I need a transmission with a tall overdrive. I'd be annoyed with the motor spinning 2500+ rpm at the speed limit on the freeway like it does in the box truck. -
Is my Explorer no longer safe to drive? *Rust*
Correct, from a few angles. If the frame and suspension are sound, run it till it dies.- Josh P

Correct. The frame is the steel rails in a bit. Can you post pictures of the frame at the rear leaf spring hangers?- Josh P

Is my Explorer no longer safe to drive? *Rust*
The frame appears to be in a lot better shape than the body. The body can be cut and a replacement section welded in.- Josh P

Josh P's 05 Jeep Liberty diesel
Sorry that this thread will be 60 pages long before a wrench ever touches the car. For the last few weeks I've been trying to get someone to make a clutch disc that would fit a 6.0 flywheel. The flat flywheel Everyone lists for the 6.0 isn't the correct one for the application I need and won't... -
Reinstall then engine siezed
I bought an engine and transmission off Craigslist. Owner said the engine was locked up so he gave me the engine cheap with the transmission. Once they were separated the engine spun fine. I never looked at the transmission, scrapped it and got another.- Josh P

Shifting getting tougher
I think cause of how much it sits, it is more likely an issue with air in the clutch system than something worn out.- Josh P

Shifting getting tougher
Air pocket in the clutch master cylinder can cause this as well. There's videos on YouTube about this, no amount of bleeding seems to get that air out. You can pull the c clip and lift the rod up out of the master cylinder until fluid comes out then push the rod back in. Put a towel under it to...- Josh P

2000 limited 5.0 wouldn't start after new exhaust installed. It started but here's my new problem.
I'd unplug things one at a time till the fuse quits blowing. O2 sensors, then the trans solenoids then if it still blows dig into the evap solenoid. I hate tracing wires for a break or short.- Josh P
