The diesel is 0 balanced. I want a flywheel. Engine currently has a flex plate attached to it. I need a tall overdrive and the 5R110W isn't enough.@Josh P Remember the engine balance issues. Is the diesel 0 balance. Are you wanting a flex plate or flywheel?

M5od? I
Mean what other manual is there for the fords? M5od-r2 is about as good as it gets I don’t think the zf5 would fit in there

T56 magnum. I'd use the corvette extension housing so I could mount a transfer case to it. I'd get the wide ratio trans with 2.97 1st and .5 6th.M5od? I

I have given up on getting a flywheel drilled, asked several places, what's the worst that can happen and got the same response. It can come apart. The SAE 2 adapter won't fit and an 17 inch clutch is overkill for the V6. I'm going to see if I can have a bellhousing made to fit the ZF manual adapter plate, then I can use the 6.0 flywheel.

Drill your own flywheel with the clutch sitting on it then it’s not terribly difficult, center punch and drill press
I’ve never had one come apart yet, we regularly drill the old 6 bolt ohv flywheels to accept the 8 bolt flywheel sohc clutch

Something else I've thought about that I need to take into consideration is an 11 inch clutch probably won't be enough. Stock power is fine, but I'm looking at turning it up as high as I can.Drill your own flywheel with the clutch sitting on it then it’s not terribly difficult, center punch and drill press

I've been pondering this project a lot lately. I think I might have to do some clearance workand go with the SAE 2 flywheel housing. I looked at having an adapter made to fit the modular pattern flywheel housing, problem is stacking a lot of mass beyond the crank spacer. The 10 bolts that hold the flexplate on are not very big so stacking another spacer then a 50+ lb flywheel is probably not a good idea if I plan on walking for the rest of my life. The SAE 2 route is looking better and better the more I think about it. Phoenix casting makes automotive adapters. I sent an email out to Phoenix Friction to see if they could supply a 13 inch cltch disc with the 26 spline 1 1/8 hub the T56 uses. A hydraulic clutch is a must, but I want an external slave cylinder that pushes a fork.

I've found the flywheel housing I need. It shipped from Canada today. I found the clutch brake pedal assembly in Ontario, OR. They pulled it today and I'll be picking it up on Wednesday when I pass thru.
The flywheel housing has a rubber gasket on the back, I'll need to figure out a part number to order a new kit. Pictures show the old gasket has been removed from the item I bought on Evil Bay. I settled on a 12 inch clutch for a Corvette. It's rated for 900 lb/ft of torque. The transmission will let go above 700. I'll have the flywheel drilled for the new pressure plate. Before the engine goes in, I'll be adding a truetrac to the D30 carrier. I know it's polishing a turd, I'll upgrade it if I break it. I'm also going to be upgrading the brakes, 14 inch rotors with dual piston calipers in the front. Haven't decided on the rear yet.
Edited to add a picture of the pedals. What I think is cool is, it appears the only difference between an auto and manual is the brake pedal. I haven't looked closely at my pedal carrier, but I'm thinking the clutch position is on all the carriers. I also like the firewall reinforcement plate.

Sorry that this thread will be 60 pages long before a wrench ever touches the car. For the last few weeks I've been trying to get someone to make a clutch disc that would fit a 6.0 flywheel. The flat flywheel Everyone lists for the 6.0 isn't the correct one for the application I need and won't fit the ZF rear engine cover. So I couldn't use a 12 inch clutch disc cause the correct flywheel is depressed in the center and the smaller disc partially sits where no contact is made. South Bend Clutch has the parts in the shop, already took my money and is working on it. They will send the flywheel, disc and pressure plate needed as a kit to me. Once I'm able to get photos, I'll add them. The next issue is the transmission extension housing I need for the transfer case adapter to mount to has been discontinued, so I'll end up having to buy a TR6060 for a Corvette and swap some stuff to make it work with a bellhousing. If I found a complete, needs a rebuild unit for under $800 I'd bite so I could swap the housing onto a T56 Magnum.

In a way, it is. Having driven this motor in the LCF, I need a transmission with a tall overdrive. I'd be annoyed with the motor spinning 2500+ rpm at the speed limit on the freeway like it does in the box truck.Geeze this sounds expensive

Well let’s hope they get you a clutch you can use and it doesn’t cost a limb

The picture above is of the completed disc. It will fit the 6.0 flywheel and pressure plate. No additional charge for the custom hub center. $1,200 shipped to my door. Shipping charge is the expensive part.Well let’s hope they get you a clutch you can use and it doesn’t cost a limb

I'm extremely happy that the custom part was the same price as the standard production item. For a medium duty truck clutch disc, flywheel and pressure plate, $1,000 isn't a bad price. The high performance car stuff starts around that range.$1200 is the new $200

I found a NP242HD at the same yard I got the clutch pedal from. Great service and they gave me a $50 discount. $200 out the door. Next item on the parts list is a TR6060 with a 2.97 1st gear and .050 6th gear.
