Reading between the lines, paragraphs too, that means distracted. If Herd made a bumper for the explorer, it would be a good investment.- Josh P

93 4.0 Engine build help
Promaxx heads flow over 300 cfm and are cheaper than edelbrock. Everything you can do to the 4.0 you can do to the 5.0 and make more power. A 351W also fits and you could put twins on it.- Josh P

Upside Down Rebuild or Trade
If you swap your water pump over to the replacement engine you'll be good for quite awhile. Car-part.com is where I checked, most of those yards ship and by freight truck a pallet space is usually $150 or so.- Josh P

A junkyard motor with under 100,000 miles can be had for $2,500 or so. If it was me, I'd swap the motor and run it till the wheels fall off.- Josh P

Cummins Gas Engine?!
The R2.8 is the equivalent of the 4.0 sohc in the cummins lineup. A 4bt is just getting broke in when the plastic timing parts on the R2.8 are letting go.- Josh P

Cummins Gas Engine?!
Depends on what the engine will be used in. The godzilla is a great fleet engine in things like a u haul. If I had a 40 foot box truck and was forced to run it on gasoline, it would have the cummins under the hood.- Josh P

2000 X AWD 5.0 cranks but no start after new exhaust/cats installed
It could be almost any of the sensors. We know the crankshaft sensor is good, no need to keep beating that dead horse. Some of the sensors can be unplugged to see if it starts. Have you checked the square engine harness connector at the back of the engine, it could be corrosion on a few pins...- Josh P

'97 Mountaineer, decision time?
I guess it depends on the area for car prices. I'll drive way out into the desert for a good deal. I'm seeing Rangers around me for under $4k that are extended cab and 4 wheel drive, older but good to go.- Josh P

'97 Mountaineer, decision time?
The vultures are circling this vehicle. If you're the one doing the work, the real question is, do you feel energetic enough to invest time and or money into it? If it is like every other Iowa vehicle I've seen, the cancer is probably worse than you expect. If it was me, I'd look for something...- Josh P

Redoing headliner
I painted a Freightliner truck with Raptor Liner cause I wanted a cheap, good looking painted job. Using it for a headliner board repair is a good idea. Buy disposable brushes, cause it will be easier to throw away than clean. Also measure how much you use per coat, so you don't waste a bunch...- Josh P

The texture is from how it is applied. If you brush it on, or use a super smooth paint roller it will be a smooth finish. An airgun at 80 psi gives the popcorn finish.- Josh P
