So apparently cummins is releasing their first gas powered engine, and holy crap are the specs on it awesome! Supposedly releasing it among smaller trucks next year, but it looks to have some promise! 200-300hp and 600-660ft-lbs of torque, suckers a beast for a gasser! Anyone else getting ideas for an engine swap? lol

I don't own anything with a hood long enough to fit a 6.7 inline 6. It does look like an impressive engine though.

Agreed! And c'mon, just stretch the hood and fenders on sn explorer lmao

I’d rather have the Godzilla
455 displacement size of a small block and it has pushrods

Depends on what the engine will be used in. The godzilla is a great fleet engine in things like a u haul. If I had a 40 foot box truck and was forced to run it on gasoline, it would have the cummins under the hood.

Honestly I'm curious to know it's mileage, they managed to keep the hp to torque ratio of a diesel about the same, so is the mileage any better than your usual inline 6 gasser and what not?

Honestly I have to agree for the typical build! Though it would be fun to say I have a cummins in whatever vehicle, show someone too, then see their reaction as i throw 87 octane in the tank lmao

I’d take a Cummins 4bt or 2.8l anyday stick it in a bronco ii or sport trac
But inline 6 is for big trucks maybe a full size bronco ;) but then why not 7.3 Powerstroke or 7.3 Godzilla? Just need to hit that lotto!!

Hard to answer without a BSFC map. I'm not seeing one online yet.

The R2.8 is the equivalent of the 4.0 sohc in the cummins lineup. A 4bt is just getting broke in when the plastic timing parts on the R2.8 are letting go.

2.8 is $$$$
4bt fits ranger nicely, way cheaper to adapt to our trans and you can find them everywhere and tune fix them with a leather man

I heard about this one! Were going back to boat anchor engines. While I'm not sure I could put a 6.7 octane into anything I own, I'm glad its coming out! Optiosn, options, options!
