stumbling idle
IAC = Idle Air Controller Do a search for either "IAC" or "Idle Air Controller" and start reading, as it's not the only thing that can cause a rough idle, though it is one of the easier things to clean and/or replace. Tom- Squirrelmaster

Someone help me before i commit suicide--fanbelt!
It could be one of the pulleys is damaged or misshapen and replacing the belt with a new one is just a short term fix, and after driving a little while the belt begins to conform to the system (the belt begins to stretch, the grooves in the belt begin to hollow out and fully seat on the pulleys...- Squirrelmaster

Mustang Wheels on a Sport Trac?
Keep in mind it depends on what year Mustang wheels it is that you are talking about. 1994-2004 17x8 Mustang wheels have something like 5.72" of backspacing with a +30mm offset. 2005+ 17x8 Mustang wheels have around 6.8" of backspacing with a +45mm offset, so they will sit further into the...- Squirrelmaster

Rear Audio with Aftermarket Head Unit
Oh, and just to clarify the aftermarket deck would need dual tuners (one for front and rear), separate amplified headphone output with volume control, and the ability to automatically fade out the rear channels when the second tuner is activated. It's a tricky thing for an aftermarket...- Squirrelmaster

Rear Audio with Aftermarket Head Unit
I don't believe there is any way to do so, as I have yet to see anything that allows for that. However, that doesn't mean that something doesn't exist, it just means I haven't seen it yet. :) Tom- Squirrelmaster

Slow Fuel Fill Problem
My '04 does the same thing on certain, older style pumps. I fixed it by avoiding those older pumps, or if that wasn't possible, filling it slowly. From what I've understood, it's the design of the filler neck that causes it, so I'm not sure what exactly can be done to fix it. I'd be...- Squirrelmaster

Front springs ?
Torsion bars maintain tension in a lateral twisting motion rather than a vertical compression motion, but it's the same basic idea as a coil spring. The stock shocks on my Sport Trac lasted about 25k miles, so I replaced them with Bilsteins and couldn't be happier with the results. My old '95...- Squirrelmaster

wheel pattern
Yes, 15" x 8"s will fit on your '91 just fine. This thread is discussing the Sport Trac which has larger brakes and comes standard with 16" wheels for that reason. Your Explorer came with either 14" or 15" wheels from the factory, so there should be no reason a 15"x8" wheel wouldn't fit...- Squirrelmaster

Weight Limit
Roughly 1500lbs is the maximum the bed is rated to handle, but keep in mind that that weight is meant to be equally distributed across the entire bed, as too much weight in one spot will crack the composite bed. Tom- Squirrelmaster

Basic S/T Upgrades/Mods to do?
A tuner/calibrator adjusts the programming that controls variables like fuel mapping, timing, shift points, tire size, etc., all in an effort to make more power and get better fuel mileage. I'll throw in a big second for the shocks, as my ST only had 25K miles on it when I bought it, and the...- Squirrelmaster

TT or leveling keys whats really the differences and -,+ ?
You're probably right, which is why I referenced that the fullsize GM crowd does it, not something I see common on this board. I guess I never realized Ford didn't put a bumpstop to limit the downward travel of the A-arms, but then again my Explorers have always been stock and used as daily...- Squirrelmaster

TT or leveling keys whats really the differences and -,+ ?
brianjwilson is correct, there really is not a lot of difference between the two, and the cost in ride quality and increased wear makes it less than ideal. If you still decide to do it, one thing you may look for that is popular with the GM fullsize-truck crowd is finding slightly longer shocks...- Squirrelmaster

Mud Trac Tires vs. Mud Terrains?
The Mud Tracs google pulled up were from Iron Horse, National, and a few other brands, but all similar looking. With that said, they did not in anyway, other than large tread blocks, look like BFG Mud Terrains. They looked to be loosely based off of the older BFG Muds, but not off the more...- Squirrelmaster

Mud Trac Tires vs. Mud Terrains?
Judging by the various different brands of "Mud Tracs" that Google brings up, I'm going to venture a guess that they aren't exactly a very expensive tire. With that being said, the BFG Mud Terrains aren't a very cheap tire, but I've had great success with them on one of my 2500HD Silverado's...- Squirrelmaster

04 ST adrenalin audio problem
So if you remove the lead from a power source altogether, does the amp still turn on? If so, then you don't have the remote turn-on lead. If the amp doesn't turn on, then put it back on the blue remote wire from your head unit, check to see if it works, and then look for another cause of the...- Squirrelmaster

04 ST adrenalin audio problem
I still have the stock head unit in my '04 Adrenalin, so I can only help you so much on that front. However, how do you have the remote turn-on wire for the stock amp wired up? Wanted 2002 Explorer XLT wanting to convert to 4WD or AWD
It will be much, much easier to just sell your current vehicle and then buy a 4wd vehicle, as the time and money involved in swapping in 4wd components is neither quick nor easy, and certainly not cheap. Reliability also becomes a factor when looking into a project like this. If it's a project...- Squirrelmaster

2001 Sport Trac going through coolant way to fast...

Engine Gurgle?
My '04 ST does it as well, as did my friend's '00 Sport, which leads me to think it's just something with the SOHC motor, as my OHV 4.0L in my '95 didn't do it. If I had to guess, I would say it's something with the air intake ducting. Tom- Squirrelmaster

Get an '04 or '05, as they didn't change the body styles until '07, which is also when they went to the IRS. Most of the bugs were also worked out by '04 as well, so you should be fine there too. Tom- Squirrelmaster

So you replaced the idler pulley as well as the tensioner and tensioner pulley? Take the axle off, then put it back on, only this time not off-center :D . What can it be?.....
Yep, it's called Ford build quality, very much like just about every Ranger drives crooked from the factory. My old '95 Explorer had the rear axle just slightly off-center, though it was less noticeable with stock, street-oriented tires. Hooray for leaf springs! Tom- Squirrelmaster

I take it the used extender you bought was not designed for a Sport Trac, or at least it's not a design similar to the OEM ones. Strange, I have the factory bed extender in mine, and short of removing the bed sides there would be no way of stealing it with the tailgate closed and the extender folded in.
