I was working on my explorer and noticed the wire going to my alternator was burnt and when touched it, it broke. I have a 200amp alt with 0 gauge wire running to the battery. Not hitting against anything that I was aware of, anyone have a idea of what it could have been?

I was wanting to see if anyone had a set of the plastics things u lock a bi-xenon bulb into to make it a 9007. I have a set of h4 bulbs and if I had the 9007 end I can use them in my explorer. And if anyone has a extra 55w Ballest I need one of them to lol thanks

Yeah imma rent that system. And it's steam not smoke I am srry. The motor runs fine, no rough idle or nothing. Heat works great and the car doesn't show. I signs of over heating

Ok so when I drive my explorer any given distance it will steam real bad web I stop. I though it was my gasket for the thermostat but it wasnt and I was recommended to replace the water pump and that didn't fix it. There is nothing in the oil and there's no smoke coming from the exhaust so idk...

Nope he ran the power wire from the alternator to the distribution block. I'm still not sure y my battery light is on though

fixed the sig, lol Ok if its bad imma want a HO alternator. I looked on the site and recommendations and mr alternaltor looks good for a 200amp and their red. Buy ebay haha has one for 147+ship and ebay is scary. and there is also one for 109. Think i might just go with the mr alternator...

I replaced the gasket and its still steaming. The only thing i can think of to replace would be the water pump.

Well like I said it only didn't that rarely since I've had it. The pressure takes forever but if I rev it will jump up to normal. Imma replace that sensor tommorow and see if it fixes it. Is there any sure way to tell if a water pump is bad?

There is coolant in the system I just filled it and I changed the oil about 300 miles ago. I accidentally put 5w 20 in it but I didn't think it would matter. The oil pressure takes a little while to show on gauge and giving it has can make it jump up sometimes. The gauge never reads that the car...
