    Well a screwdriver was jammed inside it. Someone tried to get access into my vehicle. If I put my key in, it won't turn. I'm not sure if tumblers are bad but I will take both to the locksmith with me. Would they have tumbles in stock, is it ford specific?

    Well i got a new (well used from the wreckers) door lock cylinder for the drivers side of my 98 explorer. Is there a way to match my key with the new cylinder? If so how thanks. great forums... :)

    well that WORKED and now my vehicle STARTS. Thank you very much!!! What i have to do is slam the steering wheel down Ill still need to gt it fixed. i wonder if they'll still need to charge me the 130 to diagnose the problem. Is it just the wiring then, hopefully it's not the module...

    I will take it in this sat. Hopefully I can get it started so I don't have to tow it in. Ford charges $130 to diagnose, 90mins. If they can fix in that 90mins I only pay 130+parts. If this is the problem, is it a long job? Thanks for the help

    Aftermarket alarm wasn't remved. It just stopped working 3 years ago. Would it have anything to do with that? I think it was disconnected at the battery. Do these alarms usually get connected directly to battery? There was no remote start in the aftermarket alarm. Just door unlock/lock and...

    Still not running. Waiting on some help from here. Otherwise I'll be taking to dealer on sat. I tried the tilt thing. But didn't slam it. And I left ignition on didn't turn off each time. I'll try turning off each adjustment. Is that a wiring issue or whole module? What did it end up costing...

    also should mention that there never was a remote to unlock doors etc from Ford. And a few years back the after market (i installed when i purchased vehicle) alarm stopped working. since then ive just used the key to gain access and start the vehicle.

    No damage to door. Everything worked fine even after driver side lock was damaged. Then all of a sudden truck won't start. Thought pats was conn maybe. Oh well time to fix this anyways. What about matching a key with the ignition. Is this possible ? Or will I have diff key for door & ignition

    how did you reset? im having the same problem and have both original and space. come to think of it ive been using spare while troubleshooting. if you can share when u say "reset" that would be appreciated. or if anyone else knows ???
