run a piece of wire from the positive terminal on the battery to the exciter wire on the alt then see if your voltage gauge comes up. the exciter is the connector going in to the alternator with the one solo wire

id eventually like to get my hands on a hi pinion dana 44, and just cut out all of that stuff..ill leave the ifs stuff for the duramax which sees highway.

I chose the zf because I decided I didn't need 5 gears for acceleration it's not a race car, it's a 4 wheel drive. 1st-4th gear ratios of the stock 4 speed auto behind the awd explorer 5.0 match pretty closlty to 2nd - 5th on the zf. So shift points match the engines normal operating range...

I know this is old. I swapped the entire body/engine harness from a 96 in to my 95. I used the 96 frame and used the 95 body.
