How many miles on your 3RD GEN! orig. tranny????

120k and the only work was a fluid flush. The tech said that it was probably the best shifting trans he has worked on. I don't pull a trailer but I will say if I need to pass somebody on the highway, 3rd gets a workout lol.

    filter problems?

They said the fluid was clean, just looked to be like it was sucking air somewhere. I just had a fluid flush and filter replacement done about 10k ago.

    filter problems?

I was just told by a ford dealer that scanned my transmission that I may have a filter issue. They said line pressures were good, all solenoids and sensors were working correctly but my fluid was getting aireated. They said they have seen the orings not seat right on the filter and are advising...

    Transmission making a weird noise

My 03 4.0 sohc explorer just started having a rumbling come from it when you shift into gear. Seems to shift okay, fluid and filter were flushed and replaced by a ford dealership 10,000 miles ago and I have about 114,000 on the explorer total. Any thoughts on this?

Please Help me! 2002 explorer bucking

Well Ive also had a trans fluid flush done about 10k ago so Im hoping that will help to rule out a trans problem. All of the aforementioned stuff I did to it seemed to help it but not take care of the issue. About the only thing I can think of to do next will be to check the fuel pressure. After...

I have cleaned the throttle body, maf and put a new air filter in. Mine starts and idles good but under a load in 1st and...

    Miss in my explorer

I have a 2003 with the 4.0 sohc motor. I have about 113,000 miles on it. The coil pack and plugs are new. The wires and fuel filter have like 25-30k on them. When I get on it hard it seems to stumble but only under heavy throttle. Gas mileage is the same as before, and I have done oil changes...

    Battery Voltage Issue

I would get a tester on it while running first to make sure the gauge is correct. A rough idle could be caused by this possibly too if voltage is running low. Once you get the voltage problem fixed then see if your rough idle goes away.

    Speed and MPG?

With my all stock 03 (with exception of plugs, wires, and maintenance stuff) I see about 14 or so in town. When I have done longer highway trips I usually do about 75 or so (sometimes more if the wife and kid are *****y lol) and see around 20-21 on highway.

Put new tires on the Explorer

My old ones were down and with winter coming I wanted something a little more aggressive since I will be buying a new daily driver soon. I went with Hankook rf-10's. Anybody else use these and if so what do you think of them?
