    I replaced my 2007 Ford explorer 4.0 Eddie Bauer with a remanufactured one with warranty from Rock Auto. I have been totally satisfied. Price was right.

    Unless the Unless the nail hole is very large a patch on the inside of the tire should work fine. I am not referring to a plug type patch but rather what they use to call a "hot patch" on the inside of the tire. I have done it many times without any problem.

    Had the exact same problem. Went through the same R&R and you. Lastly, I replaced the front differential with a used one from a salvage yard near me and it solved the problem. Fortunately the part was inexpensive. Paid $75 with a 1 year warranty. Cost to put it in was $300.
