Securing HU w/ a rear screw

Hey, I'm not sure how many other HU's have this feature, but, my Alpine IVA-900 has the ability be secured from the back of the radio to the vehicle by a protruding screw. Let me elaborate: When you slide the radio into the dash opening, there is a hole in the middle of the back of the radio...

    VSS wire for Navigation

Finally finished Just to finish off this thread, I was able to get to the vss wire, which is grey and black, at the back of the instrument cluster. I had to change some blown bulbs, so I decided to make the connection also. There's a write-up on how to take off the instrument cluster for...

    VSS wire for Navigation

Hey, I searched and found a few thread's but I'm not 100% sure. Can someone tell me were the easiest place to tap into the VSS wire is? Also if you have any pictures that would be great. It's for a 97 AWD. I installed an Alpine Navigation which works, but now I need to install the VSS...

    ALPINE CVA-1003 /DVA-5200

http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/view_page.pl?page_id=433615 The only problem I've had with the unit is that it has too many controls. The Sony HU I had before made my system bump. But now, I'm guessing since I don't have the eq's set properly, it's half as good. Other than that, and...

how can I get larger wire into my door speakers?

I used 12 guage home theater wire. The jacket was very thick which cause some problems. For the passenger side, pull back the factory rubber gaskets that are used to pass the wires through now. Slip in the wire while it's open, then snake it through and resure the rubber loom. The...

HID, piaa pro90 factory integration- check this and help

Expo, http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/433615 The HID's are blue-ish. They look good now, but they'd probably look awesome with different headlamps. The lower fog's are behind a blue tinted glass, so they appear white. I think the 10,000K also come with a purple-ish look. Oh...

OMG, i gotta get these lights!!!

Afboy143, I have blue 10,000K HID's. If you're up to spending around $500, then you could get the same kind but in purple. As far as brightness goes, mine are a lot brighter than many other vehicles on the road. Only if I had projectors... (sigh). I think you could also just spend...

    Rear Under-seat Construction

Hanging the vinyl is another good idea. There's an automotive leather shop nearby, I'll check it out first before I construct. Expo... I'd also like to see what the armrest looks like with and without the PS2. Thanks

    Rear Under-seat Construction

I guess I overlooked ventilation. But computer fans sound like a good idea. I'll probably start construction this weekend, if time permits. It shouldn't be too hard. Isn't that what custom work is about? Find a problem and then come up with a way to solve it. I have a box in the...

    Photoshop

You need the program. If you've never worked with Photoshop, I'd suggest trying Photoshop Elements. It doesn't have all of the tools as the full program and should be easier. Both you could acquire from Kazaa. If you're really having a hard time, post some pics. I'll see what I can do.

    Rear Under-seat Construction

I want to attempt to construct something that would prevent the underneath of the rear seats from being seen. I have equipment installed under there (amp, headunit brain, inverter, and a ps2), which is the reason for the construction. My plan is to use MDF to fabricate a front and two sides...

    XM Radio?

I subscribed yesterday. The setup was pretty easy. So far, I think it's worth it. There are times where the signal drops, usually because of an overpass or trees. But I can live with that.

    Hyperwhite interior

Well, the packaging has a lot of Japanese writing on it. I think is says "B1 Hybrid" and "Polarg." There sizes are M-4 and M-88. The M-4's were $11 each pack of two and the M-8's were $11 each single pack. I bought them from a local dealer here in NY. Hope that helps.

    Hyperwhite interior

Well, it's been a while now (two months) since I changed ALL the interior bulbs and exterior bulbs to hyperwhite, expect for two locations: the vanity mirrors. I'm very pleased with the results. If you want a very bright interior, that's the way to go. My question is this: does anyone...

    XM Radio?

What's up? I recently bought Alpine's IVA-900 DVD Receiver. For anyone looking to get a dvd player and screen in one, I would highly recommend this unit. Anyway, I'm also considering subscribing to XM. Does anyone currently have XM or have any experience with it? Also, on another note...

Sorry to hear I'll try to be as helpful as I can. I have a Viper ESP550. It cost about $350 with install. I have an optional motion sensor installed that gives warning chirps from the outside and sets off the alarm if you break the interior field. I have a siren inside the vehicle and it's...

    Side Markers & Neon

Punisher, I'm not sure which wire it is, but if you get a tester and use it when the door is open and closed, it should be pretty easy to find. But why would you want it to come on when the door is open? I would look much better being on with the headlights... When you open your door and...

Has anyone installed an info center to an X-plr which didn't have one before? I haven't called Ford yet to get a quote, but I'm pretty sure they'll want an arm-and-leg. Right now I have the two velvet-type openings instead of the always useful info center. Any input would greatly be...

It's great To put it short, get a V8. I have a '97 AWD V8. I love it. The only problem I have with it is the gas mileage. I don't have an info center so I can't tell you specifically what I get, but I think it's like 8 mpg. As for the power gain, wonderful! My girlfriend has a V6 Grand...
