Yes, I agree, but..... The sohc with it's 2 cams and 4 chains and all the rest, even the intake manifold, is a very interesting motor. At least in an architectural sense.

I just started rebuilding a 4.0 sohc to replace the 4.0 ohv in my 2000 Explorer and just wanted to say what a neat motor the sohc is. Some parts seem to be overly complicated but I think it is a facinating engine nonetheless. Any one else agree? Joe

Transfer case I thing the 1354, 1356, and the 4405 all interchange and will bolt up. The wiring will be different I think.

I want the 2 speed transfer case and control of the shift points and converter lockup. Nothing is 1997, everthing is 2000. All of that is complete, I just had questions on the airbox. Thanks

Pull the fuse In the fuse box under the hood find the #6 fuse. It's a 20 amp and pull it out and see if the growling goes away. This is if you have the 4406 transfer case.
