    alarm goes off by itself

I have a 1997 4x4 XLT that has started to give the panic alarm all by itself. First time I thought the remote was bad but has done it even when locked manually. I searched the forum but did not find any references.:bounce:

Installed a 3rd seat last week.

I mounted my brackets under the carpet, added padding to make everything flush and smooth, then cut flaps in the carpet to access the slots in the brackets.

Which tires for rock crawling and mudding?

95Ex.LTD The BFG muds do hum a little but do not "make alot of noise". They are quieter than some other's I've tried and I'm used to it. It would depend on you and you're dad. They are very good in my local mud and I think they handle everything else well too except ice.The ride is similiar to...

    Bucksots ?

Buckshots Has anyone tried Buckshot Radial Mudders? Are they noisier than BFG Mud's? Are they any better?

Which tires for rock crawling and mudding?

bfg owner I run Mud Terrains on my f 150 and like them alot. I don't get the chance to rock crawl but work great on every thing else. The original swampers were less than nice on the road but if you are offroad only might be ok. No experience with Boggers. There are also some cheap mudders...

    GoodYear

goodyear investigation involves E rated tires The article I read involves an E load rated tire.

    Problems w/31's

my experience I had 31" BFG's on my '97 XLT but downsized to 30's because the 31's sat outside of the front fenders and threw gravel on the mirrors etc. I do not have flares but do have factory boards and the 31's left me 3/4 of an inch clearance at the tightest point turning with stock...

BFG TracEdge??? Anybody w/ commetns, experiences

MT's If you are running mud the MT is the only way to go. In the mud I run, there is a world of difference.

    LT235/85R16 -- maybe I am missing something ??

good tire but heavy I've run these tires on a 3/4 ton ford alot. The only problem I see is most are 10ply or load range E. They are made to carry a lot of weight. We often go to a 255/85-16 to gain a little size over stock but in mud a tall thin tire is superior.

Ford Passed Up Chance to Boost Explorer's Stability

In the Real World First we must admit that an Explorer is easier to roll than a sedan. However, lowering tire pressure to prevent rollovers is crazy. I farm for a living and deal with all kinds and sizes of tires. While I do not posess enough engineering education to know the effective...

    Ray Lobato's Before and after

Awesome Ray!!! That looks great Ray. My question is from your past. Are the OME springs that much better than the warrior shackles? If I understand, the OME Springs are $200 each. That's pretty steep for a grocery getter. Thanks, and great truck.PS Are your old Springs for sale?

BFG AT KO vs. GoodYear MT/R

Wayne, Any pics of your truck with the MTR tires on it?

    31x10.5=? & 32x10.5=? (Help!)

It sounds like a 32/10.50. I assume micheln web site has a spec chart. If not check BFG or Bridgestones site. I've been to both of those several times. Several guys here run the tire you mention on Sports. Look at the "Before and After" forum for pics.

What size of the KO's did you put on?

    Yet another tire question

A Goodyear ATS is a far cry from a swamper. I've looked at the ATS and it shouldn't make anything more than a light hum if that.

    Can you find this tire?

Does anyone make a 31/9.50-15 or equivalant metric tire? Preferably a All terrain or mud terrain. Thanks and Happy Trails!

    what about bridgestone dueller a/t

Is the ride more harsh than your p-metrics?I'm also considering these tires. Do they have the same sidewall tread and square shoulder as the BFG AT KO? Is the 265/75-15 a mistake since it is P tire? I thought maybe the ride would be better than the LT Bstone or BFG. Also glad to here about...

    255/70R16 = 31/10.50R15 = 265/75R15?

255/70R16 = 31/10.50R15 = 265/75R15 It appears to me that these tires are all pretty close to the same size. The 255-16 is stock on newer Sports is it not? Is there a difference in the sport suspension and the XLT. What does an Eddie Bauer come with? I've been concerned about going as big as a...

Firestone/Ford -Is the Explorer at fault?

I have a 1997 XLT with Goodyears and while I don't like the tires I have heard of zero accidents like this with any other brand or size of tire. P.s. I assume the 31 inch KO's fit well?

Installed a 3rd seat last week.

Sorry, no pics I'm not too computer literate yet. I don't have a digital but if I get a Snap shot I'll scan it in. Maybe I can borrow a digital camera this weekend. Not hard to take out. It has two spring loaded pins and then tips back. You do have to tip the factory rear seat ahead to unlatch...

Installed a 3rd seat last week.

I was in Cabelas and they had a "Large" seat in the bargain basement (return and closeout room). I had to order the mounting kit from the catalog. You are supposed to bolt it in on top of the carpet but the brackets looked ugly and uncomfortable if you wanted to lay on them. I pulled the carpet...

    15 or 16

A taller tire is taller no matter what size of rim. I'm putting 30/9.5x15's on mine soon unless I go up to 31's. Several guys here run 31's on stock Ex's with out rubbing. Go to bfg's website and compare a 255/70-16 to 30 0r 31x15's.

    31" BFG MT's

OK, Not normal for the tires What I'm saying is the tires them selves will not do this unless one or more is defective.

    31" BFG MT's

not the tires If you and I understand "wobble" the same way you have some other problem. I am currently running 32/11.50x15 BFG MT's on a 1994 F150 with 101,000 miles. My ride is very good with little noise and only the very slightest vibration (probably from mud in the rims). I think you must...
