    cold air intake for 5.0

I made my own. Made a box around a KKM and ducted air from the pass. side light opening in my EE airdam. Checking with the scanner showed much cooler air to the intake.

cost estimate for 302, 331 or 347 build

Been thinking about this too. What will be required as far as the computer, after mkt chip, etc? I've seen some long blocks say they are compatible with certain years or types of balancing, are there really any compatibility issues with these?

97 Explorer Rear Brake Rotor Removal Help?

A couple of sharp raps with a hammer around the hat will help break up the rust around the studs and behind the rotor. Mike

Where are all the FAST Naturally Aspirated 5.0's ??

explodr04 Our big problem is that we can do a ton of stuff to the intake, fuel and cumbustion side of things and the can't improve the exhaust. It's the achilles heal. :banghead: The biggest thing TROLL's got on everyone (besides money) imho is the custom long tube headers.

    Bullit Wheels??

I think the thread was called "Spas got Bullits" but try the search with some variation on spelling. If I remember right there was some discussion about clearance between the upper ball joint and tire sidewall. Mike

Where are all the FAST Naturally Aspirated 5.0's ??

There's also the effect of frontal area. Think of the difference between throwing a beach ball and a baseball. Physics is hard and expensive to overcome. :( Mike

    Plugs and 02 sensor

I hope these are helpfull to you guys. The first time I replaced the pass side upstream sensor I did it from below with much swearing and scraping of knuckles. It was well worth it to pull back the carpet for the easy access. Good Luck!

I don't normally hang out in this area but I run into this type of problem with my Powerwagon all the time. Could it be that the CV arrangement is diff enough to cause the problem and if so can you find someone to do a custom shaft?

On mine it worked really good to get the end started and then pull at a right angle to the stripe, down the body not out from it.

FYI: Cold Air Intake = Hot Air Intake

Dead on Robb. If we wanted to be really accurate, even a snorkel is at best an ambient air intake. Truly cold air requires some kind of intercooler. I saw somewhere Ford is working on an AC driven Intercooler for the next Lightning. Here's what I've been working on and just need to get it...

installing 3rd seat in 1st gen.

EBInterceptor, The cargo hooks stay but they get new hdwr. and there are (3) new holes drilled through the floor, each side. A template is provided so there's no measuring to screw up.:D Mike

installing 3rd seat in 1st gen.

When I talked to one of our state patrol officers, it sounded like the third seat met all of the criteria like seat length, belt position, etc. but since it is not a recognized device it would be open to interpretation. I don't use anything extra for our 5yr old but I still use the booster...

installing 3rd seat in 1st gen.

OK, Facing forward, there is 10.5" from front edge of 3rd to back of second row and 12.5" from rear of the seat (bottom) to the rear hatch. Clearance at the top of the hatch a little bit less. Be aware that some states are getting a bit militant about child seats and may not recognize this...

MrShorty, I threw the seat in and took some pics with it facing both directions and one of the frame and shoulder belts. They are in my general photo gallery. Mike
