auto to manual

hey everyone,

i have a 96 4.0 OHV and was wondering how hard it is to swap a manual transmission for an automatic tranny. i'm so tired of the auto acting up! thanks in advanced!

It's not too hard. Best bet would be to find a wrecked 96 5 speed. You will need the parts off of that. Parts like the ECU, clutch/brake pedal, lines, ect. You will also need a flywheel for the 5 speed. You shouldn't have to cut into the floor for the shifter. There should be a plate that covers the hole that you can take right off under the carpet. It's been done, try a search to get some more details about the swap.
