MFT / Sync v3.7

Hi all,

I came across the fact that Ford offers Sync v3.7 update as of now (at least in Europe) for Explorer vehicles etc. After checking up syncmyride.com it still offered me the same v3.6.2 as the latest version.

Is there official explanation of this, or can we expect a new update soon? Does anyone know anything? With thanks

Successfull installation of SYNC 3.7 confirmed on Ford Fusion 2013 too...

I have an American model, I am more worried about screwing up Navigation etc. Unless someone confirms success in testing...

Well, as far as I know ford APIM software have two parts: CIP (Customer Interface Processor) wich we all can change by upgrading SYNC and VIP (Vehicle Interface Processor) wich can be updated only by Ford sertified technician using IDS and online OASIS service.
Navigation and few other features are activated in VIP. So I believe that SYNC update can not break navigation option.
But this is just my toughts.

This is NOT a version that should be installed on North American vehicles. V3.6.2 IS the latest update for our Explorers.

NOTE: I have copied and pasted the official IVT response in the post above.

If you install this on an NA model you will lose navigation and travellink/sync services. This is an international version only. If you already installed you can PM me for help on downgrading.

Great, thanks for the heads up. I won't install it then - I have enough patience to wait for the official North American release!

I've had a couple of people ask me for help downgrading from 3.7 back to 3.6.2. This is just a reminder that if you are stuck on 3.7, you can PM me for help on downgrading to regain lost functionality like Travellink and Navi.

If I get a copy of 2.11 can u help down grading from 3.6.2 on my focus?

Maybe, but I can't promise everything would work. Not sure why you'd want to do this either. 2.11 was arguably the least stable version of MFT and the version I ended up filing my lemon law suit against Ford for. Depending on the model year of your focus 2.11 May or may not have all of the supporting dependencies for the car

In my Focus, the functionality that I lost upgrading away from 2.11, outweighs it's glitchiness.

PM me if you can get the installation files. I don't think 2.11 was ever released as a self install

how could it be any worse than the official ford NA version. screw up the already screwed up navigation, maps, gps, messaging,ambient lighting, bluetooth, phone sync,??? (have i missed anything)

perhaps you should inform your ford lackies a warranty on nothing = nothing

Installed 3.7.1 Europe version just for fun on my 2012 Explorer, everything went fine in just under 25 minutes. System is working as it should.

I was hoping it will accept my playlists with russian songs when I choose russian language, but it didnt work out. Russian playlists are still containing zero songs.
Moreover, I noticed I'm now missing 911 assist since its Europe version.
Lot of languages, British English is not so bad at all, she seems to be understanding me perfectly.

I'm going to update to 3.7.1 North America to get my 911 assist back, since no gain for me from having Europe version

See post 5 for the WARNING from the In Vehicle Technology rep. I'm guessing the warranty that would be voided would be the 5 year one on the APIM.
