01-05 Sport Trac 4x4 Lift Options Discussion

If i'm doing the 3" in body lift with 33/12.50-15 tires would anyone recommend wheel spacers to maybe avoid cutting the body trim? btw 15x10 wheels
If you had to do some trimming, I bet you could do it without it showing on the outside. The trimming would be inside the wheel wells.

Does anyone have any pictures of the pa 3" body lift without gap guards??? All the gap guards are doing is hiding the frame but does it look bad w/o them? So is it worth it to just get them?

What size are those goodyears in the picture?

You were able to fit 35s on there with just a 3" bodylift?

Don't be afraid of the sawzall. :D It's probably hard to tell, but I did do some trimming on the inside fender wells. My friend Txplates has the same tires on his ST with only the 3" body lift. No torsion twist and no lift shackles. The right backspacing on the wheels is important.

This is me driving Txplate's ST down a hill. He's still learning and preferred for me to take his truck down the hill. He had his anti-sway bars still connected which gives you no flex on the rear axle and makes the truck roll and pinch way more than it should. Driving his truck was way scarier than driving mine down the same hill. Take note, you can hear his tires rubbing sometimes. But, it's not that bad. They definitely don't rub while driving on the street with normal driving.

Here's me driving my truck down the same hill...
Note *** - I have a spring over axle lift and Warrior rear lift shackles on my truck in this video and no anti-sway bars.

i've read a good chunk of this post, and i still don't understand one thing-

if i want to put on Warrior Shackles, will i need to get anything else, or is that enough?
i want about a 2" lift on my 05 Sport Trac, and i understand that is the cheapest way, but please correct me if i'm wrong.
thanks

also, what's the difference between shackles and lift blocks? and is one recommended over the other?

The shackles will only lift the rear. You still need something in the front, a tortion bar twist is what most folks do. You dont use blocks because the springs are under the axle on our trucks though some of the folks around here that have done a spring over conversion.

so if i don't want to do the torsion bar twist, then really the only option is to get a body lift kit or a SOA conversion?
does the SOA wear any parts down unusually fast? i'm asking because i have 46,000 miles, and i want this lift to last a long time.

If I get everything I need to do to my truck done, I will be in Phoenix with it later this month after the Truckhaven Meet on Oct. 23/24.

And we could discuss the pros and cons of this and that.

BTW, doing a SOA in the rear and no lift in the front will give it a raked look. But that never bothered me. Plus, if you get fiberglass fenders on the front it makes the front look lifted.

I probably should have kept the rear stock fenders on.

thank you so much. i am looking forward to meeting with you.

I really like the way your ST looks in the first 2 photos, and that's kind of the look i'm going for. how much was the 3" body lift?

Check Craigslist too. I found one that someone bought but never installed. She was asking $100. I took $80 with me and she took it.:D

Does anyone have a picture or the dimensions of the front bumper relocation brackets for the Sport trac 3" BL? I am building a custom 2" for my Sport and I need to know if the bracket is the same for the ST as it is for the 2nd gen Explorer. Thanks Yall.

John, you mentioned the right backspacing to fit 35s on 15x10s. Do you remember what backspacing you had?
