01-05 Sport Trac 4x4 Lift Options Discussion

lift options?

Hey guys, I have a white 2001 ford explorer sport trac 4x4. I am only 16 and do not have a whole lot of money to spend. I would really like it to be 6" but I dont think I can afford or much less if they even make it. I was just wondering if there is any other lift then the superlift?
Thanks!

Body lift

tortion twist and shackle lift.

I'm about to buy the performance accessories body lift kit pn 70023. I just wanted to see if anybody knows the cheapest place to get it from. I found some on ebay from top gun customz for $302 shipped but now i just found one from jack-it suspension for $257 free shipping. Now i dont think ill find anything cheaper than that but i figured i'll ask. So anybody seen this performance accessories kit pn70023 any cheaper than $257???

I don't think you'll find it any cheaper then that man. It's pretty easy to do, just alot of tedious little things to disconnect/ reconnect, etc...

Here's a picture of mine as it sits now with a 1.75 TT, SL, 3" BL, 33x12.50x15 GoodYear DuraTrac's on 15x8 Cragar Soft 8's with 4" b.s..

Yea thats the look i'm pretty much going for, all blacked out. My windows are tinted, i have 15x10s, my center hub caps are black and i'll have that yakima megawarrior on top with the spare in it. But other than those little things my truck should look somewhat like yours. I'll take pics when its all done, still waiting on parts and i'm pretty sure i'm going with the goodyear duratracs (thanks for the recommendation)

I have the Yakima MegaWarrior for sell with the offroad lights, wind jammer, mounting brackets and J-hook tire hold down. I'm asking $350 for everything. Here's a picture of it on my Trac..

I already got one but i like that set up in the back of the bed with the bars.

actually i do need that spare tire holder if your interested in letting just that go.

I still have those too, it's a Tal & Hadas Rear Sport Bar. I'm one of seven people in the U.S. that have these, they used to make and sell them from a company out of Isreal but discontinued them. They had a matching full frontal assualt bar that matched.

Ok so in the next 2 months i'm getting all my stuff put on. Heres my grocery list so far....
15x10 wheels w/ 4" backspacing w/ duratracs 33x12.50x15s
truxxx torsion keys w/ new zabteck torsion key bolts
warrior shackles
performance accessories 3" bodylift
-While doing this i'm also replacing my front end parts to moog for the stabilizer links, upper left and right control arms, lower ball joints, caster/camber cam, ebc greenstuff 7000 severe duty front brake pads and timken front wheel and hub bearing assemblys. Along with that also an alignment, transmission oil change, front and rear differential oil change and transfer case oil change. Oh and i just found out i should replace the stock frame mounts. Is there anything else i'm missing or am i good to go? I want to make sure i have all the parts i need before starting this project.

Are you 2wd or 4wd? If 2wd you can go 3" torsion twist/ key (total), if 4wd no more then 2" (total).

With the 15x10 rims you'll need to still cut alot of the cladding, toeboard, pinch weld for clearance. I did 15x8 with 4" b.s. because of this.

Why do you need new frame mounts, rust?

Ahh, so you need new body mount BUSHINGS, not frame mouts, huge difference. Are yours dry rotted?

The extra 2" in the rims won't give you any bigger footprint, that's done by the tread and width of tire.

I have 15x8 Cragar Soft 8's with 4"b.s.and 33x12.50x15 GoodYear DuraTrac's on mine with 1.75" TT, 3" BL and SL...

I still get rub at full turn and especially over bumps while turning. I've done extension cutting but need to do more.

Yea bushings not mounts sorry. Yea mine have seen their days. Oh well wish i would have read more into it i already got the 15x10 wheels and about to get the same tires you have, your the one who talked me into the duratracs. Do you have any pics of the cutting on the inside of the fender?

I like this guys tire footprint

I have an silver 04 Sport Trac I've had it for a couple of months now and bought it with everything it has done to it. To include 3" body lift, 265/75/16 (bought new when i got it ) 16" Pro Comp rims that are black (have thought about getting something else), West brush guard with 2 aftermarket Hella lights, nerf bars, bed cover, and bed extender. Lately i have been thinking about maybe putting a suspension lift on it as well, between 4 to 6 ". i think it would make it look better and i wouldnt be riding lower than everyone else. I'd like to get that put on when i get the money for it it but i would have to have someone else do it. if i do go with getting the lift i was thinking about putting 33/12.50 on it too think it would look good. i really dont know much about cars in general just enough to get by. but i was wondering what you all would suggest on doing and what brands and stuff i should go with if i did. hope to hear some good feed back. can email pics of my sport trac

If your Trac is 4wd, then you have a couple options...

1. Body Lift (you said it already has it)
2. Torsion Twist (no more then 2"), free other then alignment after it
3. Warrior Products Lift Shackles #153, usually can get around $60-80 shipped
4. Lift keys for Torsion Bars, same thing as TT but cost money and a ***** to install
5. Add a Leaf, can get in a kit with torsion keys or seperate csot more money
6. Superlift 4" "suspension lift kit" around $1600-2000 and an extra $500-1000 to have someone install it
7. SOA (spring over axle) not too expensive just need to figure out a way to match the front lift to the added 6" gained by SOA

If your Trac is 2wd...

1. TT up to 3" safely free except alignment
2. Lift spindles, $$$ but worth it for the lift
3. same as the rest of the 4wd...

Most of us (myself included go with the cheap route) TT, LS, BL and bigger tires.

Will the performance accessories lift pn# 70023 work on an 2003 4x4 automatic trac?
