01-05 Sport Trac 4x4 Lift Options Discussion

if i did a torsion twist, and got 2 inches, will installing 2 inch torsion keys add anymore height to the front, or will it be the same as with the TT?

yes but as many people say its cheaper to just buy longer bolts; same thing. but it puts more strain on your half axles and they wear out faster better to just do shackles, and a 1 1/2 inch tt thats safe, and then do body lift. i found a body lift for 10% off til april 22nd at suspensionconnection.com for 250.00 total. great deal considering it does come with bumper brackets, unlike some of the ones on ebay for the same price.
i found a shop that will do my body lift for 85.00 an hour and they said it wont take over 5 hours. pretty cheap just ask around

ok. thanks. in your opinion, do u think i would be able to clear 285/75 R16 mud tires with 2 inches in the back and like 1.5-2 inches in the front?

does anybody have an answer or opinion to my question?

Yes you can but you would have to trim

does anyone know any information regarding shock absorbers? i am wondering if they make longer shocks for the sport trac, compatiable with torsion twist. or can i get shocks that are made for another truck that will also fit the ST? any help/info is appreciated.

I have been told by folks on this site that with that type of lift the stock length shocks are fine.

I think what he is getting at is to get longer shocks for a shock lift. I dont think you can, You could do a coilover converstion, but you need lots of modifications to do that.

yea, thanks. my friend has a 1500, which they make like all kinds of stuff for, nd he got skyjacker shocks compatiable with 3 inches of added lift he got from torsion keys, and i was just wondering if anyone knew any info on a product similar to something like that. thanks

When I buy and perform my BL on my trac will I be replacing the factory body mounts with the parts in the BL kit? I noticed that my factory mounts are in bad shape so if the kit doesnt replace them I will need to buy them when I do my BL.

Thanks

The body lift does not replace the body mounts. Yes, you should replace them at the same time you do the body lift. The rotting body mounts seems to be a problem with many Sport Tracs.

Thanks John, I will pick up those body mounts before I do the BL.

jeremyc653, are those 285/75 R16 tires? if so, did you put shackles on the back, and TT up front?

no 275/75 r16 but close i might fit 325s idk though

I hace been looking into a 3" body lift for my 03 ST, but can only find 01-02's. Any siggestions? Does the 01-02 kit fit 2003's?
