I have an 01 explorer sport. I was driving and the check engine light came on then the truck started sputtering real bad so I put a computer to it and it said cylinder misfire in I think 2 and 4. I changed all the plugs and wires and still nothing so I changed the fuel filter and even punched out the cats. Can anyone help me figure out what different things I can try to fix it id really appreciate it thanks

I was also wondering what years r the same as the 01 explorer sport? And is the sport trac the same motor to? I'm gonna go to a junkyard for the coil pack and injectors so I jus wondered what years would have the same kind just incase they don't have the exact year as mine. Thanks I appreciate it

The coil packs r pretty cheap but the injectors I couldn't find any cheaper than $40 a piece

If someone can just let me kno what motors and parts are compatable wit the 01 explorer sport id appreciate it. And if the sport tracs are the same thing thanks

Well it's pretty easy best way to do it is looking your serial # and then determine if you have a E vin or an X vin ( if you can't just call your local dealer they wil tell you and if I'm right it's the 10th digit of ) and then just go on a web the one I gaved you or rock auto or any other one ( Ebay and google shopping are doing a very good job too) and you'll be able to filed the year / model properly.

Just remember the E/X vin in case it wil be the most frequent question. And for your troubble shooting, I'm pretty confident with the coil pack.

So r u saying if the letter in the vin matches that means its the same? Thanks

thanks everyone i really appreciate it
