Hiya! I am doing a transmission swap on my 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac (5R55E), and I noticed that on my replacement unit, there is a missing sensor above the shifter. The replacement transmission is coming from a 1999 Ford Explorer XLT Limited, if that is helpful. Is there any way around this?
This is a pic of the old unit, the sensor in question is pictured in red. On the new one, there is not one of these, nor a hole to put it in. What is this, and is it necessary?
