01 Ranger 4X4 Module Replacement

I have an 01 Ranger 4X4, V6 5 speed automatic 99K miles. I just got it back from Ford and they told me that indicator lights were out (replace switch)and the 4x4 module was also out.
Of course, Ford wanted way too much to replace it and the 100K mile extended warranty does not mention that part specifically, so it's not covered.
Is there a place on this forum that can tell me where it is, and how to change it?

I heard on the new body style (2002-up) the 4x4 module is behind the glove box. I have not had to change mine on my 2000 yet, But if I was you I would check there!
