I have an 01 explorer sport i have to replace the bumper. Before I do I was wondering if a bumper from a 97-00 would work. I was looking at one and they visually look the same but i am not sure about the brackets. I was just thinking of putting a chrome bumper on there instead of the factory grayish one. Thanks in advance for any info.

I don't KNOW this but others here have said the do in fact fit right up.

I am going to order the bumper which looks to be the exact same as the 02 sport. It is from the 97-01 ford explorers. Could someone please give me a definate answer that it will fit a 2001 explorer sport. Thanks...i only want to get this cuz it is like new for 70 bucks.

i have a 2001 Sport and the bumper is like one whole piece it connects the the grill. You must have a 2001 4 door there the same but a Sport has the Sport Trac front end man. This will not work.

I think he is talking about the rear bumper, and Im pretty sure I read somewhere that they are the same. Sorry, not a 100%

Someone hit me in my parking lot at school(University of MD) and i'll have to pay my deduc. anyway if i tell my insurance co. so i will fix it myself. I'm very mechanically inclined haha..

The only real problem is the step pad on top of the bumper. it is cracked I know its plastic..I cant find one online anywhere, maybe i'll just go to ford and buy one.the bumper just has a minor scratch...i can have that painted...i think the color is Medium Platinum, my explorer looks just like yours..also, i have a question...i was looking at your site about lowering, did u only use the torsion bolts and not do the flip to get it lowered 3 inches? it looks good. I am going to do this when i go home to NJ this weekend is the snow clears up. Thanks.
