i would go with something like a 6k i have the 8k on my 01 sport and with all the scattered lighting i really dont get as much lighting as i would have hoped
yeah i wouldnt go 8000k. i had 5000k in my cavalier and they were much brighter than the 6000k in my truck. my buddy had 8000k and they were pretty useless. you want a white light not dark blue or like some people who go to 12000k, get less light output than halogens and have pink lights, lol.
i looked at the lights today on my 01 sport and ther are 4 metal clips that attach between the housing and lense, i also noticed that theres some adhesive of some sort between the 2 but i think i might be able to just pop the 2 apart if i play with it a little. the only downside to that is gonna be that i need to reseal it after that. on a side note, i hooked things back up again after having issues with the vvme kit and maybe i just got the bulbs in a little tighter or who knows, but my low beam output is quite nice, a little better than in the pics and the high beam output is actually fantastic, its a very solid and very wide output that travels quite far. so i might just leave the plastic thing in, i havent had anyone flash me yet and im getting great output, low beams are still a tad blotchy but theyre better than the halogen low beams.
i got you i kinda regret getting the 8k now there is really not enought output like i wanted so i will probably order some 5k bulbs for some more light granted i do love the color but more light would be better at least for out x's and the headlights we have only thing is how bad vvme rips you off for the bulbs on shipping
yeah, but you gotta remember that the parts come from china and get here in like 3 days. i like my 6000k bulbs alot. they have a nice blue tint to them and do a great job on the road.
Put them in the oven to soften up the glue that holds them together and just before they melt take them out and pry the lens off the body.
Lots of posts around about oven temps/times ect.
Seems to work better on aftermarket lights than OEM.
Fist off this post was great i was wondering if the hi/lo was reversed on the plug for my 01 xlt cause when i turned them off they would go to low then shut down so will be doing that tomorrow. Now i have the 12000k bulb and i really like it i will try and get some pics up in the next couple of days with the lights at night.
