'01 Sport keyless entry issue

Just traded in my venerable '97 X Sport for an almost immaculate '01 X Sport. Everything seems to be showroom new -- except I don't know the default keyless entry code, and the owner card is missing!

I confidently opened the jack panel as I knew it would be on a label on the RAP, but there ain't a RAP back there. (The only thing back there is the jack and the rear seatbelt mechanism.)

My '97 also had the entry code scrawled on the firewall in yellow grease pencil, but not there on my new X. I've searched all the obvious (and a few downright silly) spots I can think of, including inside the left taillight, looking in vain for the entry code.

PLEASE HELP! I refuse to support my local dealers, two of whom said they'd charge $100 to find my code for me.

I couldnt find mine either...looked in the jack storage, firewall, under the hood all over the gosh dern place...I eventually just gave up, as i refuse to pay my dealer any more money for a code for my truck. They should tell you it for free as far as Im concerned. Sorry you seem to have the same problem as me.
