Can not find problem for skipping--changed plug, checked wire, checked fuel pump. Problem stared on first cool morning when hard to start and very minor back fire. Any suggestions or similar problem from anyone out there????? Codes keep saying #1 misfire????

Skipping can sometimes be caused by a stuck injector. A buzz test could help you with this one. Or a shop could run a different test that's more accurate, but I can't remember what it's called.

Before that, I would check your fuel filter though.

Did you change all plugs and wires or just the one? Another thought would be to move a working plug to cylinder 1 and see if the problem follows to the other cylinder or stays on 1.

If you are having a misfire check the following; grounds, plug wires/plugs, coil pack and injector.
