02 4x4 Problem

We have about 67,000 miles the X and the 4x4 is not working. When you push the button for 4x4 high the light is not coming on in the dash and it is not going into 4x4. It is the same with the 4x4 low. I looked through all the fuses and was unable to fine on that was blown. I also got under it and looked at the wireing and eveything going to the transfer case and the motor on the transfer case. Everything looked normal. Recently both front wheel bearings were replaced. The transfer case was drained and refilled and the transmission was flushed. Any ideas on what to check??

Could be a problem with the 4x4 controller. It's behind the glove box on the 02's I believe. Do you hear any click when you switch to 4x4?

fuse 12 is for the shift module behind the glove.
Try reseting the computer by diconnecting the battery. I had the same issue. Resetting would work for me for a little while..BUt I finally went to the dealer and my controller had to be replaced. It was just under $450 , but my extended warranty covered it.

Thanks for the Help. I talked to a friend that works at the dealer and he said that they replace alot of the shift modules. I will try to reset the computer for now and see if that works. Thanks for the help guys.
