02 Engine wont start in cold weather

The answer for me was to clean my Idle Air Control (IAC) valve. I also cleaned my Mass Airflow Sensor again. No problems since.....that was a couple of months ago and we drove through -20 weather turning the engine off at gas stations and leaving the vehicle off overnight at a hotel and it started right up the next day. One thing that was an indicator for the IAC was that when the truck wasn't wanting to start I could hold the accelerator to the floor and it would start.

hobbitak actually i have a question.. Was your explorer not starting at all before you cleaned the IAC and mass airflow sensor or was it idling bad?

The idle wasn't too bad before I cleaned the IAC but it did improve somewhat after. I was looking for a solution to an intermitant no start in extremly cold temperatures. Also my Explorer is an '03 4.0L .....I have read of earlier models having IAC valve problems as well.
