02 Explorer Eddie Bauer V8

Merry Christmas everyone!! I drive a 02 Explorer Eddie Bauer with the 4.6 liter V8. It has 186,000 miles on it.
My question is what type of oil to use with the age and high miles on the V8?
I currently use Penzoil High Mileage 5W20. My service advisor wants to switch me over to 100% Synthetic. I only drive approximately 7,500 miles a year and currently change the oil every 6 months no matter the mileage.
Any thoughts from high mileage Explorer Owners?

Nice looking! Yes, go with the synthetic, you have it covered with changing it every 6 months. There is high mileage synthetic. I drive about half that much and change it every year.

My reason for every 6 months has to do with removing any water accumulated in the oil / oil filter. (Cheap insurance) Also rotate tires at the same time.
