02 explorer rear strut removal and install

how can i remove and install new rear struts in my 02 explorer the end of the strut is bolted in the lower control arm with a welded tab on bottom ( below ) the strut so that means it has to be compressed to be removed ? the strut has to be lifted out to remove and the spring is attached , can anyone explain to me how i can remove and install the new ones .. thx bunchez

I have the same question, my rear springs are breaking apart! and need to be replaced. I think there should be some kind of recall or something,seems like defective metal to need replacing after 3 yrs. the springs should last alot longer than that. how do yours look?
