Anyone ever remove front rotors on a 2002 Ford Ranger with 4WD? I'm sure it's no biggie but I never did and want to see if there's any tricks, tips, or precautions I should take.

The only reason I'm asking is because I see the large nut threaded on to hold the rotor, but are the bearings behind or don't I have to worry about them kinda like a front wheel drive car?

Also, how much would I tighten the bolt to hold on the rotors, just enough so the rotors don't wobble or have any play in them?

thanks

I don't think you need to remove the axle bolt to replace the rotor. You'll need to remove the brake calibert and the assemberly. The rotor should just fall off. If this is your first time removing the rotor from this truck, you'll need to remove the rotor holding washers around the lug bolts.

yup the hub bolt doesnt need to be removed only the brake caliper.
