I am trying to replace a front axle u-joint on the drivers side, and I cannot get my front rotor off. My manual does not tell me how either, I have taken the caliper off, removed the hubs, removed the inner locking hubs, I also know that i need to pull the front wheel bearing, but i cannot get that out either. is there a how to for the front rotor? or does anyone have any advise?

thanks

Try reading through the 1st gen front brake job diary. I can't remember where it's at, but you should be able to find it with the site's search engine.

I have gotten to the point where I had everything in line of the rotor coming off removed and the damn thing still wouldn't budge as well. I even tried pulling it with the diesel mower and a length of chain - the thing didnt go anywhere but my Ex almost came off the jackstands- amature move back then, haha. But in the end, it simply comes down to getting the right tools for the job, and for you my friend, the right tool is a SLIDE HAMMER. If that can't get it off, there is some kind of problem. My fighting rotor came off probably in under 15 seconds after I bolted the hammer to the rotor.

^ The info above applies to your situation provided you have removed all the ****ty little parts of the Auto hubs (this includes the little metal key lock).

You can rent one for free from AutoZone.

It's called a sledge hammer. Beat the HELL out of the rotor (CAREFUL not to hit ANYTHING else!!!!!!!) and it WILL budge.

There should be no need to beat it with a hammer unless something has gone horribly wrong (like a bearing that welded itself to the spindle).

Do you have the key out of the nut and the spindle nuts removed?
