Driving last night and my check engine light came on, plug in my scangauge and got 3 codes.

P2000, P1000, P0174

Where can I find the list that tells me what they mean?

Thanks

Scott

p1000 means you didnt complete a drive cycle ignore that.
p0174 is bank 2 is lean.
p2000 dont exist on a ford.

Bank 2 is lean?

Sorry not much of a gear head, what does that mean? What should my next step be?

p0174 means the engine on bank 2 is running lean. a.k.a the pcm added the max amt of fuel it can and it still cant correct the oxygen it reads after burn.

i would search this forum.

If the car still seems to perform and respond normally, what cause(s) are most likely?

p0174 since it only set bank 2 not both would be a leak on the drivers side, my guess air is getting into the intake after the mass air flow. which the pcm can't correct.

you really need a scanner that can do pid data so you can what the fuel trims are.

the other bank can also be lean and just didn't set a code.

vacuum leak - could be intake gaskets - esp. if sohc

I cleared the codes last night to see if it would come back. With the false code 'P2000' I wanted to be sure. I was sitting at half tank so filled up with premium for the cleaning agents. Took a run up and down the highway being intentionally heavy footed to get the RPM's up. Did this a few times getting up to a decent speed with the RPM's high. It pulled no problem with no abnormal sounds, vibrations or performance. Also the check engine light did not come back and my scan gauge is reading no codes. It was probably a build up of carbon or something from dirty gas. Will be monitoring the situation but for now it seems fine. Thanks for the help anyway.

It seems I was not so lucky as dirty gas or carbon build up. More codes have been thrown over the last few days. Truck is still drive able with no apparent performance issues. Have a appointment with a good mechanic Monday to have a look at it. Already spoke to him and explained the codes etc so he knows what he is looking for. Lets hope it's not the gaskets but what has to be done has to be done.
