Hi Everyone.

I have a problem with the dome light / side mirror courtesy light & dimmer settings.

When I set the dimmer switch to the auto-on dome lights/courtesy lights when the doors are opened, i noticed that the guage panel, radio, center console and panel lights are dimmed to the darkest, even when the doors are already closed. So i have to adjust the dimmer switch to increase brightness.

Isnt it that the guage, radio and center console lights should be at maximum brightness when the dimmer switch is set to the auto-on?

Any DIY on how to check or possibly repair this problem?

Thanks.

Generally I keep the dimmer switch turned up pretty high, almost to the maximum setting. If I roll it up just a little bit past where the dash and radio lights are at a "comfortable" brightness, I hit the point on the adjuster where all the cabin lights will click on.

I think what your are describing is normal behavior -- crank the wheel up until things are bright enough for your liking.

If you turn the wheel just enough to activate the auto-on setting (just above the click), all the lights will be very dim...

That's how mine works, anyway.

Thanks for the reply sfbayjay.

Oh, i thought there was a fuse busted or the switch is defective.

oh well i guess that it is by default that the lights are dimmed to its lowest if it is set at auto-on.

Its kinda annoying to keep on rolling up and down the dimmer switch. :(
